It seems like the internet is awash with information on how to look better, but have you ever wondered what the secret you’re missing is? Sometimes there can be little hacks and tips that can be game changers!
Here are five beauty secrets that women don’t always know. Knowing them will empower you to understand where to make changes in your daily routine to get the best out of your products and your body. Remember, you don’t need to be stressing about money to look your best. There are so many little amendments you can make and things to be aware of that don’t cost the Earth to see an improvement…
Hair Loss Is Not Just For Men (but it can be stopped!)
This is a secret that many women don’t like to admit to: hair loss is not gender-dependent.
It’s true that men do tend to suffer from hair loss more than women, with male pattern baldness affecting great swathes of the older male population, but women can also suffer from hair thinning and hair recession at any time of their lives. It’s worth checking your vitamin and nutrient supply if you’re on the thinning side (Biotin can help boost hair growth too), and ensure the hair products you use are quality. Of course, eliminating any stress to the body and mind too is a huge help.
The Harley Street Hair Clinic sees both men and women for hair transplants and hair loss issues, and, with treatment, their female clients are getting great results, transforming lives.
White Eyeliner Makes You Look More Awake
Have you invested in a pure white eyeliner yet? No? Why not?!
Grabbing a white eyeliner may seem like an odd choice, especially when that nude look or smokey eye look is still very much in fashion, but if you’re looking for a quick fix for tired eyes, white is your best friend.
Use it to line your waterline for more awake-looking eyes, and line your upper lid to help your eyeshadow POP!
Mascara Can Be Saved With Saline (kind of)
It’s tough to visit stores right now, and a lot of places are either closed or not selling ‘non-essential goods.’
Apparently, that also includes mascara. But have no fear, saline is here! Use a few drops of saline solution in your mascara bottle to help give it a fresh lease of life.
Important note: this will only revive your mascara, eventually it will still run out!
Use A Heated Eyelash Curler
You know that using slightly warmed mascara is a great way to help it glide, but what about warmed eyelash curlers?
Heat works on most hair, including eyelashes, which means a heated eyelash curler can help your eyelash curl to last much longer.
For best results, use a hairdryer to gently warm the curler up (not too hot) or pop it in your pocket (or in your bra) for a few minutes to use your own body heat.
Bicarbonate Of Soda And Apple Cider Vinegar Works For Hair
When the world first went into lockdowns, there was a lot of chatter about the ‘no poo method’ of hair washing, and now is a great time to give it a go!
Here’s how:
- Grab a heaped tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda (or baking soda) and mix with a small amount of water in a cup
- Pour this over your hair, making sure it covers every hair on your head
- Leave for a few minutes
- Rinse with apple cider vinegar
- Give it a final rinse with plain water
- Repeat as necessary over the next few weeks
Just a few tips you may not have known about!
