The Cohorted October Beauty Box Review

Look what beautiful beauty box has landed on my desk this week! I’ve raved about Cohorted Beauty Boxes a lot over on my Instagram this year, mainly due to them being a more high-end, luxury beauty offering. I’m a sucker for a premium brand, so when I discovered these monthly boxes, which can have a worth value of £300 depending which month/brand focus, they shot up in my list of recommended beauty boxes.

Everyone has different wants and needs when it comes to the monthly boxes. Some want a budget box that costs them around £10, and contains an array of affordable and trend-led beauty. Others are happy to pay that bit extra, and gift an exclusive, high quality beauty box.

As I mentioned, I love my premium brands, especially across skincare and makeup. This October box from Cohorted has a worth value of around £300, and we’re going to unbox it today for you (spoiler alert!)

MZ Skin Brighten & Perfect 10% Vitamin C Corrective Serum

Now the 30ml version of this is around £250, so it’s a real pricey product! This fast-acting, ultra-targeted serum combines a potent complex of actives and an optimal dosage of 10% stabilised Vitamin C to address the visible effects of UV activated hyperpigmentation, age spots and to reduce skin tone imperfections. It works deeper to help protect elasticity, stimulate collagen synthesis and create a shield to protect against environmental aggressors resulting in a strengthened, refined and brightened skin tone.

You can expect it to:

  • Works instantly to reveal a brighter, smoother and more luminous skin tone
  • Clinically proven to reduce pigmentation and brown spots by 39.7%
  • Clinically proven to brighten skin by 29.4% over 30 days
  • 10% concentration of Vitamin C protects against premature ageing by boosting collagen production and is an antioxidant
  • Peptide-rich formula helps to control melanin production
  • Creates a shield against environmental aggressors to protect and strengthen the skin’s barrier function
  • How to use: Morning and evening, apply two pumps onto the face, neck and décolleté and gently massage until absorbed.

Terre De Mars Body Cleanser

A brand I’d not been familiar with before, Terre de Mars is a unisex skincare brand that is based in France. This product is their Reddition Body Cleanser, in which you get a generous 150ml size of this organic and low foaming cleanser.

It works to deeply cleanse and refresh the skin, and is suitable for all skin types. It contains bioactive ingredients too like coffee, rosemary extracts and verbena oil- all which help to purify, tone and protect the skin. From first smell, it’s a very refreshing fragrance and a unisex scent too.

Up Circle Citrus Blend Facial Scrub

I remember when Up Circle launched, and I loved their ethos of using sustainable and recyclable ingredients while delivering high quality products that are ingredient led, with eco-friendly packaging too (which looks super premium!).

This gentle face exfoliator for dry or dehydrated skin is designed to naturally buff away dead, dry skin cells to leave your skin smooth. It’s USP is that is has been made with repurposed coffee grounds from London cafes, so totally using the recyclable message. It’s packed with some of my favourite oils, like rosehip, sweet orange and lemon verbena essential oils.

This scrub is also blended with jojoba oil and shea butter to nourish the skin post-scrub. Buff away dead, dry skin cells to leave your skin smooth. Reused, repurposed, reloved – what more could you want from a brand? And as mentioned before, this scrub is made with top-quality Arabica coffee grounds sourced from artisan coffee shops. Natural, sustainable, vegan & cruelty-free.

Rodial Dragons Blood Sculpting Gel

Rodial are well-known for their revolutionary anti-ageing formulas, and this blood sculpting gel is no exception. It works to volumise and define the facial contours by stimulating collagen production, which then plumps up any hollow or sagging skin area, giving a firmer, tighter and lifted complexion.

The wow factor here is the brands unique dragon’s blood complex ingredient, which is sap from the Croton Lechleri tree. This potent ingredient forms a unique second skin-like film around the face, offering immediate protection from the elements, calms redness, and instantly soothes and smoothes for a younger looking complexion.

Too Faced Flatbuki Face Brush

I am always looking to add to my collection of face brushes, and this one is a fabulous version as it’s quite chunky – great for both liquids and powders. This Too Faced Flatbuki brush is a great one for those who like to apply powder or liquid formulas with a chunkier yet controlled brush head, along with a beautiful aesthetic.

Adorned with a pretty pink handle and super soft, luxurious fibre bristles, this portable brush works effortlessly to hold onto each pigment and effectively blend into the skin. A professional makeup applicator brush that is 100% cruelty free.

Too Faced Kajal Liner in Black

As someone who always wears brown eyeliner, I was wowed by this intense black kajal eyeliner from Too Faced as it looked so dramatic. It’s been ages since I even tried a striking black liner, but I decided to give this one with it’s dramatic deep black pigments a whirl. The packaging was also just so lovely!

It’s definitely a high-quality version, soft yet sharp enough to create an array of looks from smouldering and smoky, to smudgy and subtle. My eyes looked so much more ‘wow’, probably as I’m only ever used to searing soft browns. I’d probably save this one for those more dressy evening looks.

The eyeliner lasts for around 12 hours, magically resisting any smudging and sweating. I loved how it glided onto both lower and upper lash lines with complete ease.

Laura Mercier Glow Finishing Powders

I adore Laura Mercier and their silk finish foundations, but I’m actually a newbie to the powders. Here you get 3 smaller versions of the brands iconic, cult-favorite setting powder which now comes in a glow finish.

If you want your foundation – or even bare skin – to be set with a fresh, luminous finish – this powder is such a fine texture which adds that glowy look straight away. I wouldn’t say it was too dewy, just a nice fresh finish with that touch of extra luminosity. Worn alone or on top of foundation or concealer, the powder comes infused with a custom blend of pearl pigments to lock in your look for 12-hours.

This weightless face powder also features no photo flashback, making it the perfect powder to apply for photos, as you’ll just get a lovely soft focus effect, and nothing else!

If you’re unsure on a gift idea for a friend or family member, but know you want it to be a beautiful surprise gift for someone who appreciates beauty and discovering new brands, then I can’t rave about Cohorted enough.
