Murad Retinol Youth Range Review

One of the nicest compliments I ever recieve is the shock that paints over someones face when I tell them I’m 33 years old. They always say they are totally surprised, and assumed I was in the mid twenties. Thank you – I’ll take that.

Now I don’t know whether people are just super kind these days and tell me what I want to hear, or, I naturally have a bit of a babyface. However, I occasionally get asked for ID when I buy drink/pick up wine in the stores, so, I’ll assume that I do look quite young for my age.

Aside from the fine lines around my eyes, I don’t really have any wrinkles. I have always tried to look after my skin, but even more so when I turned 30. There’s one key ingredients I look out for every time I use a skincare range since gracing my thirties, and that is Retinol. If you don’t know about it, then shame on you… it’s a hero ingredient responsible for keeping our skin looking as youthful and smooth as possible, without having to go under the knife.

Quality Retinol doesn’t come cheap, so what I will say is that if you find a Retinol infused eye cream, day cream or night cream, and it’s like… £5.99 or something… I’d seriously wonder why it’s so cheap. And that’s not me being a brand or product snob. I’ve just done heaps of research into everything from retinol to salicylic acid, glycolic acid to rosehip, and retinol is one of the most expensive ingredients due to it’s strong Vitamin A properties.

One of the more premium ranges I’ve been using lately is Murad’s Retinol Youth Renewal range, which I feel if you want to take your anti-aging skincare regime up a notch, then this product regime is worth it. I’d hand on heart recommend it for those 29 and over, who are serious about slowing down the aging game and looking more refreshed and youthful.

Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream

Murad’s Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream has launched with a breakthrough, anti-aging formula that works to combat common concerns as you sleep. It’s a thicker, rich consistency that absorbs quite quickly to work intensely while you sleep. Although it feels quite luxurious when you massage onto the skin, it’s actually quite lightweight when applied.

The night cream is powered by a Retinol Tri-Active Technology, which works to minimise the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and uneven texture for a smoother, younger-looking complexion come morning. Alongside this, it aims to deliver a rich moisturisation and hydration, along with lifting, firming and defining. Phew, bit of a a hero cream, right?

I’d say that it took around 5-6 days before I noticed results, which is fairly quick for a night cream! It started with more luminosity and smoothness first thing in the morning, and then around weeks 2-3, I noticed a more firmer, toned and defined complexion. Luckily I don’t have many wrinkles anyway, so for me it was more of a plumped, brighter, lifted look. I’ll take that!

This night cream didn’t irritate my face or cause any form of redness, incase any of you have wondered this as large amounts of Vitamin A can do this (luckily, this range uses safe amounts).

Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum

If you’re keen to diminish the look of tired, dark eyes, and ease up fine lines and wrinkles around the delicate eye area, this eye serum gets the thumbs up from me.

I remember a while back when I was cautious about using retinol around my eyes, but Murad have worked on creating a formula that is capable of being both gentle and effective. With this products, the percentage of retinol in this formula is fairly low, being effective enough to work it’s magic, yet allowing for daily application without the risk of irritating the already sensitive under eye area.

I feel like maybe this will make this product take a little longer to show visible results, but if you stick with it, you’ll definitely get them. When retinol is used to treat under eye concerns like crows feet, dark circles and fine lines, it works to brighten and hydrate too, so it’s an all-round great product to use on the eyes.

I’ve been using this twice a day, although just a very small amount in the morning. No irritation, brighter, smoother, and more ‘eased’ eyes!

Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Serum

Aaaaand saving the best til’ last! I genuinely love using this serum as it’s so kind to my skin using it everyday, which at first I pondered due to it’s retinol content. However, it’s combined with hyaluronic acid and botanical extracts, therefore I’ve found it really gentle, yet also packs the punch that it says it does.

It quickly absorbs and allows for any moisturiser or foundation to be applied above, and has a lovely refreshing scent upon application. If you’re in your early thirties and looking for a retinol product to use in the morning under your makeup that’s going to provide hydration, brighten, visibly minimise the appearance of lines and wrinkles, while helping to firm and even tone skin, then this is honestly the one.

As many of you know, I suffer adult acne still, but this doesn’t cause any problems on the days my breakouts are worse. So I kinda feel like I can tackle my breakouts while working on keeping my skin looking youthful!

Do you guys ever use retinol? I highly recommend incorporating retinol products into your skincare regime, especially for those in their early thirties. If you’re unsure where to start, then Murad’s Resurgence Retinol Youth Renewal range is a real winner. Pop it into Google and have a look at some of the reviews – it seems so many people who use it are fans!

The range is slightly higher priced than some of Murad’s other products, as the serum sits at £75, the night cream £70 and the Eye Serum £75. But remember, a little bit of product goes an extremely long way!
