So, it’s the last day of 2017 (well, tomorrow technically is, but it is currently nearly 11 pm on the 30th December), so I thought I’d finish the year with a little simple blog post.
I spent Christmas a super quiet way, with my two favourite people – my Mum and Dad of course. There’s usually lots of us around on Christmas Day, but this year, the three of spent it together at home, which we have never actually done before. I love my parents so much (as I’m sure all of you do too, but as you get older, you think about it a whole lot more) and treasure all the time I spend with them, so it was just really nice to have some chill out time at their house, with no plans or anything to rush off for.
So I decided to do something useful (other than eat copious amounts of food and drink) with my down time during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and that was no other than to learn to film some vlog clips and edit them together!
My first vlog has been put together rather rushed, on my Canon camera which isn’t rated highly for filming, and edited on an old, slow running laptop which I had to hand over Christmas… so don’t expect anything other than poor quality amateur! But, I learnt how to use an editing software and had a little bit of fun filming some short clips, making a new years resolution to learn how to become a vlogger.
And yes, that is literally my only new years resolution – to learn the art of vlogging. What Emma Did turns 8 years old on the 1st January, so it’s about time I stopped hiding behind a wordpress platform and sharpened up photos on Instagram! I still feel a bit weird about being on camera, like its something I don’t take to too naturally. But sometimes in life you have to push yourself outside of your comfort zone, right?
You may despise it and think “Oh Emma, just stick to writing” or you may think “ah, this is nice to hear her speak.”
We shall see hey….
And in the meantime, I wanted to take this opportunity to say that I hope you all had the loveliest of Christmas Days and holidays, and will continue to have a fantastic 2018. Lots of good health, wealth and happiness! I truly hope that all the good things sprinkle down in abundance for all my lovely readers.
I’ve had a nice little break spending quality time with my parents, boyfriend, sister, niece and new baby nephew, so I’m more than ready to hit 2018 and see what it has to bring.
If you would like to subscribe to my YouTube channel to make me look like I’m not the loneliest vlogger on the whole website, that would be super duper kind of you! You can do it here…
Merry Christmas to you all and have the best-est new year! xx
