The Future of Packaging?

Packaging usually has one rule – the more creative, the better. Brands aim to create packaging that will make their product stand out amongst competitors, and the brand that turns the most heads will attract the most customers. Sounds about right, doesn’t it? So I was very surprised to see new Swiss cosmetic brand Aschen and Voss take on a very different way of packaging their make-up lines….

Using a clean, pharmactuetical heritage, the brand have gone for sharp, geometric packaging. No fancy designs, no bold colours, no descriptive lettering, no images, no light reflecting materials, no slogans, no….. you get the idea. Take a look….

The brand uses a range of simple, block colours and minimal text to try a new approach to packaging, aiming to attract the typical beauty shopper who appreciates clean, simple lines consisting of fresh, feminine colours. I actually love this idea, I think it makes the brand look extremely prestigious, and its modern touches are really going to attract new customers. Just proves that less is more, right? Look out for this unique packaging design making it’s way into the UK cosmetic industry, I reckon this could work really well over here…. Watch this space.

Absolutely LOVE this packaging….you know how I love simplicity and clean lines! This brand would look perfect on my bathroom shelf. Where can you buy these products from and have you tried them yet?

Love the concept of “cosmeceuticals”. The packaging is so edgy without being over the top. Less is definately more..

I’m sorry I just don’t like it. I could understand if it was for environmental reasons, but I just find this packaging so dull and boring. I think it would be appealing to my mom.
