Lush is opening a ‘naked’ shop in Manchester with no packaging and plastic-free products

I recently recieved an invite which got me reeeeally excited. It was from beauty brand LUSH. Which let’s be honest – no one does a bath bomb or a soap bar quite like Lush, right?

The environmentally-friendly British brand is opening its first ever “naked” store in no other than my hometown of Manchester on Friday 18th. Absolutely every single product will be free from plastic packaging. How incredible?

Following the success of their plastic-free stores in Berlin and Milan, Lush’s first UK “naked” branch will open its doors on Market Street. This is going to provide a hit with environmentally-conscious customers, as the store will still sell the brand’s hit shampoo bars and bath bombs but without any paper bags or packaging.

This means beauty fans can of course get their usual Lush beauty fix while also doing their bit for the environment.

On a mission to reduce its carbon footprint and cut back on plastic waste, 50 per cent of Lush’s core range of solid deodorants, palm oil-free soaps and body conditioners are already “naked” products.

In the beauty industry in general, we all have to suffer excessive amounts of packaging, and customers are starting to challenge this now. This store is going to be a huge shaker in the beauty retail world, and I can’t wait to check it out myself.

Plus, it’s of course another reason to put Manchester on the map!
