I’ve recently been taking to my Instagram to share a lot of content around purple shampoo, providing a bit of insight to the blondies out there. I think I’m entering week 8 or 9 of lockdown, as I know I did start it a week early, and even with a few looser restrictions being announced, there’s still no sign of life around where I live.
Salons will be one of the last to start opening, and can you image how hard it will be to get in once they do?
So blondies: who is rocking slightly brassy, yellow toned hair? Anyone missing their salon toner treatment? I for one definitely miss having that whiter, ashier shade of blonde, but luckily, I’m usually stocked up with purple shampoo and conditioner at home to help out.
The one I want to rave about today is Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind. I’ve heard people say that Fudge do the best purple shampoo for years. I remember a hairdresser I had about 6 years ago tell me this, and I can only image the formulas have probably become even more advanced since back then, too.
It’s quite a strong one in my opinion. The dark inky violet shampoo can be left on for up to 5 minutes, but I leave it on for 2 minutes and that seems more than enough for me. Any white blonde sections of the hair will lift first, so to avoid them going a blue-ish white shade, best to start off with leaving this on the hair for a minute, and seeing what you think will work for you…
What I love about this range is that as well as brightening and cleaning up brassy hair, giving it that cool, ashy tone, it also cares for the hair and doesn’t dry it out. There are many purple shampoos out there which I’ve had lots of success with but I’ve found my hair has felt quite dry using them, especially if I’ve used them a couple of times during one week.
It feels super lightweight to use as it gently cleanses the hair, and the Clean Blonde conditioner is also creamy and rich yet doesn’t feel too heavy on the hair. Both of them together have been fantastic for removing brassy tones and neutralising yellow pigments in my hair, and I’ve only used this range twice! I just got quite excited about the results already so wanted to jump on the blog and share.
As I like to check, these products have not tested on animals and the formulas aret cruelty-free.
When researching into the magic of these products, the brand say that it is the violet pigments which neutralise any warn brassy tones, and the guarana ingredient which helps to hydrate and keep hair moisturised to prevent damage and fading.
If you have chemically damaged, faded or split hair (like myself!) the shampoo and conditioner aim to leave hair 90% stronger after only one use.
That makes me feel much better about using them more than once a week! You can shop these Fudge Clean Blonde products at lookfantastic here.
