It’s officially wedding season! And don’t I know it- as a bridal make-up artist, I have a number of weddings to attend to, both as work and as an honoured guest. It’s possibly to do with creeping up to the big 3-0 that makes this year seem the biggest and busiest for weddings up to now! With all this wedding and bridal talk, a recent blogger event at Hanocks jewellers in Manchester seemed really fitting. Myself and a group of lovely North West bloggers headed along to the Manchester based dedicated diamond specialist to talk diamonds, dazzling gems and all things desirable!
Hancocks are internationally recognised as one of the leading authorities in the world of diamonds and precious gemstones. Hancocks are Manchester’s oldest fine jewellers, their origins began in the city in 1860, when Napoleon III was about to invade Prussia. Therefore, it was an honour to be invited along and hear about the history of the company, told to us by the dedicated staff. A group of us gathered into a room decorated with displays of fine, timeless jewellery, and discussed all about yellow diamonds, the George Jenson collection, wedding rings and stunning bridal jewels. I even got to try on the most beautiful yellow diamond ring, which currently sits proudly in the window display of the Hancocks store on King Street, towards the Deansgate end of Manchester.
I have a working history of jewellery PR, therefore I was especially interested in hearing about all the favourite jewellery collections and pieces. The range of pearls and diamonds were exquisite; some absolutely breathtaking pieces which oozed glamour. If I was shopping for myself, the little pearl and diamon pendant necklaces would have been my firm favourites.
As we all know, jewellery styles change, but Hancocks’ perfection is timeless, which makes them a number one choice for jewellery particularly for the bridal industry. Over 150 years have passed since Josiah Hancock first founded the business, and it is still in private ownership today. Hancocks jewellery is known for being one of the finest in design and craftsmanship, creating the most desirable collections in the North West.
The team were so inspiring and knew everything possible about jewellery,. I think it’s always a good sign to see a strong professional sales team pride themselves on providing a discreet and specialist service. It was interesting to hear them discuss the Hancocks service once purchasing- continuous attention to the purchase, providing a cleaning and checking service to ensure the jewellery always provides pleasure to the wearer (free of charge.)
If you are a lucky lady with a boyfriend who is considering proposing and needs a little of your guidance, perhaps take him in-store and browse the beautiful displays. You will enjoy every minute!
