Fashion: LABEL Mix Launch at 20 Stories, Manchester

The other week, I finally ventured out to the highly talked about 20 Stories in Manchester. If you haven’t been yourself – or if you’re not from Manchester and haven’t heard much about it – it’s Manchester’s highest bar, with stunning wall to ceiling windows allowing incredible views of the city.

It also has that dream outdoor terrace for those *not so common* sunny days in Manchester. As well as it’s large focus on it’s outdoor area and amazing views, they serve premium cocktails and offer dining too, making it an ideal place to check out if you like those modern, more luxury dining and drinking experiences.

I attended 20 Stories with the lovely fashion brand LABEL Mix, in which the kimono I’m wearing on these photos is from…

Label Mix is a fashion brand exclusive to NEXT, in which the pop-up came to Manchester earlier on this month. The brand champions fashion’s rising stars, collaborating with them to create beautifully crafted investment pieces. Each collection from Label Mix is classed as ‘limited edition’, which means you’ll own something unique.

And because the designers evolve from season to season, the brand prides itself on the customer being able to always discover something new. I for one selected this incredible kimono style outwear jacket, and you wouldn’t believe the amount of compliments it gets when I wear it out!

This Jacquard Kimono coat probably isn’t something I would usually go for – so I actually opted for something a little different to my usual style. However, I do love a good kimono style jacket, as its something about those loose fitting sleeves and pinched in waist silhouette that I just love.

This super stylish kimono coat has been designed by Osman, aka the maestro of tailoring, exclusively for Label/Mix. Revered for his mastery of cut, Osman has crafted this kimono in a crisp black, navy and white ikat jacquard for a more tailored feel. The material feels really thick and a little ‘stiff’, like there has been a lot of effort and quality work gone into the design and creation.

It’s unlined and cut for an oversized fit, with round shoulders, wide sleeves, side splits and a belt detail, making it the ideal lightweight cover-up for summer teamed with jeans and a tee. It’s totally what I would call an investment piece, and retails at £199.

Label/Mix were putting on a lovely fashion blogger event with Manchester influencers, introducing us to the brand, its mission, the recent collections and celebrating its launch at the Manchester NEXT store.

The celebration was of course over numerous glasses of Prosecco and a delicious three course meal. We sat and chatted outside at first, to admire the lovely outdoor side of 20 Stories, before taking our seats in the private dining room we had reserved, where we selected a few courses from the menus.

I enjoyed a salmon starter, sea bass main, and a Manchester Tarte dessert, washed down with a couple of glasses of a crisp and fresh white wine. The service was fantastic, and I couldn’t knock the food either – everything tasted delicious and was displayed elegantly on the plates, beautifully presented.

I enjoyed my afternoon at 20 Stories so much that I’ve booked in to go back for belated birthday drinks on the 16th June…

Thank you to both Label/Mix and 20 Stories for hosting such a lovely afternoon! You’ll struggle to get this gorgeous kimono off my back from now on…
