Fashion: How I Shop Affordable Fashion Online

Shopping online accounts for more than half of the Internet use these days, and in actual fact, most of that is done on mobile devices.

I for one spend a lot of time doing online shopping. As a fashion blogger, I’m pretty much addicted, as I like being able to share new buys all the time! The beauty of online shopping is that I never  need to spend hours trudging round busy shops any more if I don’t want to; plus, I am addicted to the more affordable online fashion stores, where I seem to get way more bargains than at physical High Street stores.

If you want to know a round-up of my favourite online retailers at the moment, (as well as my boutique, my little store which needs more attention at the moment!) here are some of the best places to look. I’m currently obsessing over shopping on these at least once a week (oops!)…

Boohoo is at the cheap end of the fashion market, but in spite of this, they offer up lots of great pieces, and they often have sales that make them even more affordable, as these Boohoo discount codes will attest. These make it even cheaper to buy the latest trends from them and if you are a student you can save a further 10% if you have a UNiDAYS account.

I sadly don’t, but I usually head straight to the sale pages at Boohoo and always find something under £10!

This online store is more along the middle price range, but carries everything from basic skinny jeans to beautiful little black dresses that will blow you away. The positive here is that they don’t charge for delivery or for returns, which is handy for when you want to try out lots of styles and sizes before committing,  and their website is extremely easy to navigate.

They also do bits for the home, and a great accessories range too, along with designer/celeb collaborations.

This is rated as one of the best online stores for both men’s and women’s clothing. Everything you find in there will be right up to the minute and completely on-trend. ASOS is pretty much my failsafe – if I’m stuck on any fashion inspo, I just head here as I rely on them to show me what they’ve got!

A tip for ASOS shopping is to check out their outlet store, which means you can buy some of the latest branded items at a discounted price. They also have a marketplace, which has introduced me to so many cool, quirky, smaller brands, which have now grown and become major retailers themselves.

And, lets not forget their year round next day delivery option, ‘Premier Delivery’, which is just £9.95 for a whole year. That won me over a while ago…

If you’re interested in fashion, but you’re on a tight budget, Missguided is a good one to check out. If you are desperate for a particular item they will deliver it the next day as long as you order before midnight. They charge just £1.99 for this next day service, which is way more reasonable than a lot of other companies, and probably less than your travel costs to the local high street!

Again, it’s focused around fast fashion and is super trend led. I find their range of size 6’s always come true to fit, which I don’t get from a lot of other retailers.

Nasty Gal

This one is a newer favourite of mine, since it became owned by the Boohoo group. I discovered the brand via fashion influencers on Instagram, sharing their favourite items with up to 40% off. They seem to sell a lot of unique items – one’s you don’t see elsewhere, and which actually look quite premium.

They have an excellent footwear section, too. A newer, sassier brand I’m loving at the moment.

Dorothy Perkins

This is another low-cost fashion favourite because they sell fashionable goods that are affordable to pretty much everyone, Yes, they are a high street brand, but you can often find exclusive discounts online, and you’ll also find a few exclusive designs too!

I feel like DP’s is slightly more forgotten about these days, but they actually retail a fantastic selection. I rate them for their petite range too – great for girls 5 ft 3 and under like me!

Pretty Little Thing

Another one which I fell in love with through Instagram, PLT is a celebrity, fashion blogger and influencer fave online store, and I know why. You’ll regularly find gorgeous dresses at £25 and under, tailored coats and jackets under £4o, and incredible sales!

I Saw It First

An up-and-coming one on my radar at the minute. ISIF (abbreviated!) is very similar in a way to PLT and Missguided, but seems to go a little more bolder and wilder with some of it’s designs. They also use a range of models, from plus size to petite, making them a ‘real’ retailer, catering for everyone. One to watch, in my opinion…

And last but not least… search for your favourite online retailers on eBay! You’ll be surprised at how many new, recent items you can get still with the tags on, for a fraction of the price.

You just gotta love the bidding game, that’s all…
