Fashion: Hello October

This time last year, I was preparing to jet off to the warmer shores of sunny Australia. Aware that when October approaches it starts getting much colder and darker, I wasn’t bothered in the slightest – I was preparing to spend Christmas, New Year and beyond living it up in Sydney. Anyway, fast forward a year and I’m back – struggling to cope now October has arrived and the cold is striking right through me…

In a desperate attempt to shrug off British Winter blues, I’ve compiled a wish list for some dreamy Winter buys that I’m going to treat myself to or sit and wish for…

Winter Coat
So I stepped out this morning for the first time wearing my furry hooded coat. It’s a new one for Winter – doesn’t do anything fancy except is just a take on the traditional khaki Parka style coat- always an essential for Winter. It’s from my little spree at Boohoo, and it’s the Alia Faux Fur Trim Parka for £45. If your looking for a coat that will last you seasons, keep you warm, and go with anything, then this style comes in an array of colours and is a perfect ‘keep coat’ in my eyes! (slightly bad lighting this morning due to dark mornings….yawn…)

I am also eager to get my hands on this lovely coat too from Boohoo – the Libby Shawl Faux Fur Collar Fitted Coat. You have to have two new Winter coats every season… or so I say… that’s surely the rule isn’t it?

Autumnal Dress
So it’s time to ditch any Summer brights or sweet pastels I’m afraid. October marks the official start of the Winter months, so a great time to pull out all your rich autumnal shade outfits. That’s easy for me, I love a dark palette, however tis the season for embracing all those plum, aubergine, navy, olives and rich browns. Doing my bit of autumn today with a nice burgundy dress from Topshop – its a fitted bodycon style with a low, dipped back feature. Perfect for an evening out, but ideal with a blazer or cardigan popped over for work, which I have done today.

OK now this is a real wish list feature – I stumbled across Preowned Patek Philippe watches and I am absolutley in love. I’m quite a sentimental girl and still wear my DKNY watch that I got for my 21st birthday 7 years ago from my university friends, however what I would give to wear one of these from George Tarratt jewellers. Absolute wrist candy beauty. I am completely lusting after a new watch and after discovering these, a girl can dream…

New Winter Bag
As well as new wrist candy, I may as well stretch out my wish list to involve arm candy too. Of course, when it comes to a new season, we all want a new bag. I need a good quality, designer branded bag that is classic enough to use everyday and to take me from office to events, shopping to bars in style. It also needs to fit my life into it therefore be of a good size for everyday essentials -diary, make-up, umbrella, purse and various types of mail I stuff in my bag to remind me to post things or pay for things (typical busy girl). So this is my one I’m saving for the new season, it’s the Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Tan Medium Tote bag, which I think at £240 is reasonable priced for Mr Kors. Available at House of Fraser
