Fashion: Boohoo Mono Stripe Top & Trouser Co-Ord

Over the weekend, I did something a little different: I wore a trouser and top combination. I never dare to try and pull off this look at weddings or events usually, I’m very much that safe type of girl who opts for pretty mini dresses or the classic flowing maxi during a Summer wedding.

But for a wedding over the weekend at Red Hall Hotel, Bury, I decided to pair together my stripe high waisted flare trousers from Boohoo, which are part of a co-ord set.

I’ve worn the Stripe Mono Top and Trouser Co-ord Set together before, so decided to try seeing what the trouser would look like paired with a different item. So I switched things up a little and teamed them with a black frill detail off-shoulder top.

Another bold move for me – I rarely wear black for weddings too, in an attempt to try and keep them a colourful, cheery occasions. But I think I managed to successfully pull off this look, seeing how many DM’s I got on Instagram asking me where my trousers were from!

The co-ord set retails at £22 from Boohoo, and is so versatile. I first wore it together, as shown below, and then threw over a stylish black blazer for a blogger event. I vlogged the outfit too, which you can check out via the vlog at the bottom.

You could pair the top with some skinny black jeans for a more ‘wow’ figure hugging look, or even pair the stripe flare trousers with a loose fitting white tee tucked in, for a more ‘boyish’, relaxed look.

You can pretty much do as you please with this co-ord, making it a wardrobe staple for me.

From a distance, the top and trousers kind of combine a little, without showing too much belly, making people think it was a jumpsuit at first. So if you’re a little cautious about daring to bare the good old belly, then this one isn’t too frightening!

A set that will be staying in my wardrobe all year round…
