Fashion: Co-ordinates and High Necks for S/S15

We’re only into the 2nd month of 2015, but I’ve already noticed a slight change in my style. It’s kind of changed by going two separate ways; the first is by taking on the casual sports luxe way of dressing. I’m still wearing heels on an almost daily basis, but I’ve been guilty of switching to Adidas trainers, leggings, sports tee’s and hoodies more often. There’s something about embracing comfort and the whole laid back vibe.

My other style is on the other end of the spectrum, and that’s smart, carefully put together ‘work wear’ type outfits. I’ve been frantically shopping for smart shirts, fitted blouses and capri style trousers to see me through daytimes to evenings. There’s something about classic, simple shirts or pretty printed blouses that have really caught my eye this season. So mix up the smart look, along with a sports focused laid back trend during my ‘off’ days, and you’ve pretty much summed up my 2015 looks…

However, my monochrome high heck H&M top I’m wearing above has actually paved the way for one of my favourite trends for 2015. The high neck has returned! I don’t know what it is I love so much about a high neck, but I always have found a little comfort in wearing clothes that either feature a little capped neck, a roll neck, or a slouchy pull over neck. So good news for me – this is a big new trend for S/S15! And falling in line with my sudden love for smart, classic dressing, there is another huge trend tipped big for S/S15, and that’s co-ordinates…

The co-ordinates trend can be a little daring for some people; it’s basically wearing matching items that create an outfit in terms of your top and your bottoms. This is usually in the format of pencil skirts and cropped style tops, or it can incorporate a trouser with a matching jacket. Either way, it’s sassy, stylish and completely on trend, so I have pulled together some of my favourite examples of how to pull off this look if it’s something you want to have a go at yourself…

The first example is daring even more so because it features a clean crisp white colour palette. But it’s beautiful. And smart. How amazing is the little cape style sleeve? This number is from Forever Unique, and it’s the ALPHA Ivory Top and Pencil Skirt Co-ordinate Set, £220

This one is so yummy for Spring! The IZZY Floral Printed Co-ordinate Set, £165 also from Forever Unique is ultra pretty and feminine. This is the absolute perfect combination for a wedding or ladies day outfit. Such a fresh, breezy and sweet little outfit. Team something like this with an oversized cream clutch and open toe heels and the entire outfit is gorgeously on trend.

My final favourite co-ordinate set idea is a little bit different from River Island, and it’s more of a quirky take on the trend. This Black Monochrome Tailored Cot and Trouser combination screams high fashion, yet is affordable and looks super chic with it’s tailored fit.

The trousers are £45, and the jacket comes in at £75. Both are limited edition, so be quick!

What are your thoughts on the co-ordinates trend?
