With so many different treatments, products, new super ingredients and home remedy tips being talked about in the media today, it can be hard to identify new treatments that could be really beneficial to you if you don’t look hard enough. We have all heard so much about the high profile and well-known treatments available on the market today. However, as we are all different, not all the well-known treatments will work for everyone, and we sometimes have to look for alternatives.
Because of that, I wanted to highlight a treatment to you today that you may not have heard about before. Thermage FLX has been developed to address the visible signs of ageing and give your skin a more youthful appearance. Now there are lots of different treatments available today which also offer this, so how is Thermage FLX different and what do you need to know about it? Well, to help with this, I have worked with Aesthetics Lab, an award-winning cosmetic clinic based in London, who offer Thermage FLX to put together what will hopefully be a helpful guide so you can understand some more about this interesting and exciting treatment.
How does it work?
The big thing everyone wants to know when learning about any new treatment is how it works. Using radiofrequency technology, the collagen-rich layers deep within your skin are heated. This causes the fibrous collagen to separate from the water molecules and contract the skin. The outcome is skin that becomes tighter and new collagen is deposited naturally over the coming months in the areas which have been treated. This then further helps to tighten your skin and improve the signs of ageing.
Where can it be used?
For many of us, the area where we notice the natural signs of ageing the most is our face. It’s the part of our body we have on display more than any other (even when we are still wearing masks), and it’s the first thing the majority of people will look at when you first meet them or have a conversation with them. With that being said, there are other areas of our bodies where the natural signs of ageing can also be seen. With Thermage FLX, the treatment can be used on several areas of your body, depending on your needs and desires. For some of us, it may be our stomach or our knees and elbows, while for others, it will be the delicate areas of our face, such as around our eyes. If you are interested in this treatment, it’s important to have a discussion with your aesthetics practitioner to work out if Thermage is the best option for this area and your goals.
Will a treatment session take long?
For so many of us, our lives are non-stop every day of the week. Even weekends are busy with family commitments, social activities, or work. It can be hard to find time during the day that’s just for you and you alone to enjoy. This can often mean people are put off enjoying something like a beauty treatment as they think it will take up hours of their time. In reality, there are lots of treatments available now which don’t take up loads of your time, and Thermage FLX is one of them. A treatment session can take as little as 30 minutes, depending on the treatment area. Along with this, there is no recovery time needed following a session, so you can go about the rest of your day as normal! You also only need to book one treatment session rather than schedule in five or six, so the actual amount of time required for this treatment is very small compared to others, which makes it ideal for modern busy lives.
Does it hurt?
Another reason why some people may choose not to have treatments done is the worry that it will be painful. While everyone has a different pain threshold, so it’s impossible to say for sure that it won’t be painful for everyone, Thermage FLX is considered a relatively comfortable treatment. A vibrating cooling tip is used to aid patient comfort and offset the heat generated during a treatment by the radiofrequency technology. Furthermore, this is a completely non-invasive treatment, so you don’t have to worry about cuts or injections.
Hopefully, this article has been helpful in shedding some light on Thermage FLX. We all know we can’t go back to the way our skin looked when we were eighteen, but there are things we can do to help our skin look as good as it can at whatever stage of our life we are at. If you’re based in or around London and are interested in Thermage FLX, you can contact Aesthetics Lab and discuss if this treatment might be right for you.
