If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen that I make no pretence of spending a lot of time lately in my dressing gown and bare face. My hair has spent the best part of 9 months up in a messy bun, and when I do get dressed, it tends to be loungewear.
These were the expectations of maternity leave I had, and I actually fitted in with them perfectly. However, 9 sweet months have passed, and it’s time to go back to work and start getting myself back to ‘me’. And by that, it means making an effort again. Effort for me isn’t just about wearing nice clothes, but it’s the little details too. Washing my hair every other day again. Using a glowy moisturiser. Wearing jewellery.
There’s something about wearing jewellery that makes me feel like I’ve finally got ‘dressed’. Like my look for the day is finished. I like to wear a lot of shirts and blouses tucked into jeans or trousers for when I’m working, so I wanted to start by revamping my necklace collection, although I have become quite particular when it comes to them. Fine and dainty, with a pendant that means something is usually my first go to.

Daisy London is a well known, much-loved British jewellery brand loved for their beautiful, everyday jewellery with meaning. The brand launched in 2009 with the namesake Daisy collection inspired by wildflowers, but since then the brand has grown to the cult status it holds today, fusing a boho state of mind with wearable, contemporary jewellery design.
When you browse the range of Daisy London necklaces over at the website, I always feel like they have my jewellery taste down to a T. They have a range of finer necklace chains, adorned with delicate pendants made up of mother of pearl, rings, bars and discs, all fitting into different themes. As mentioned earlier, I am quite particular and I like my necklaces to sit subtle on my chest and not be too stand out, which is a reason I rely on Daisy London and their collections.
Alongside my love for pretty, fine necklaces and pendants, I’m a huge earring fan. My fingers and wrists are really small so I tend not to give to feel I need too many bracelets or rings, but earrings? I simply can’t get enough of them! They make me feel that little more glam when I put my hair behind my ears or tie it up in a bobble. Whether it’s teeny studs, mini hoops or drop pendant earrings, I feel extra special when my ears are adorned with a pretty pair of earrings.

The one’s I’m wearing in the photos on this blog post are the Isla Mother Of Pearl Drop Earrings, which are 18Ct Gold Plate. I have seen a necklace over at Daisy London which pairs with this style too, so that might be the answer to my ‘going back to work looking glam’ style situation!
I absolutely love Mother of Pearl, I feel it’s such an elegant, sophisticated and grown up stone when used in jewellery. These small drop earrings feature a unique slice of the iridescent Mother of Pearl stone, encased in a high shine 18ct gold plated silver, giving the beauty of a drop earring but without being too ‘much’ or too dressy for everyday wear. I for one have certainly been wearing them everyday since getting them!
These earrings are from the Daisy London Isla collection, which has been inspired by the treasures found by the sea and shore. When the daylight catches them, they lightly glisten in the light. Something I noticed in those low sunshine days in September and October. The Isla Mother of Pearl Drop Earrings are also available in silver.

There’s something about choosing the right jewellery pieces which work with your personality, life and personal style that can really make you feel more confident and happy. I feel much more complete when I know I have a pretty necklace peaking through my shirt, and glistening earrings framing my ponytail.
The collections are Daisy London are – in my own opinion – truly lovely and spot on for the type of jewellery pieces I’m proud to wear. They recently collaborated with Estee Lalonde, in which the collection is a stunning range of necklaces to layer and small chunky hoop earrings, to name just a few key looks. Alongside this, you have their Healing Stone and Chakra collections, for those who lean towards more meaningful and spiritual jewellery collections.
Take a look over on their website here or Instagram page for more beautiful pieces.
