Beauty Shopping with World Duty Free and Manchester Airport

I’ve been so excited to get this blog post up all last week, but I seemed to get sooo many distractions whilst editing my vlog to go alongside it. Anyway, after pulling off a few hours work yesterday on Sunday, I finally got my latest vlog live which meant I could finally share my World Duty Free and Manchester Airport blog post too!

A couple of weeks ago, myself and a lovely bunch of Manchester bloggers headed down to Terminal 1 at Manchester Airport to fully explore the BIZA, World Duty Free store, after it has had a sassy makeover with lots of new, exciting beauty brands.

I don’t know about for the other bloggers, but the end of September was a fantastic time for me to indulge in a bit of World Duty Free beauty shopping, so I could stock up and treat myself before the Christmas gift season kicks in.

I stayed at the lovely Radisson Blu Manchester Airport hotel for the night, which was such a stylish and modern place to stay. It literally takes you right out onto the airport – perfect for if you have an early flight in the morning (which I sadly didn’t, but that place always fills me with travel inspiration!)

I filmed my experience at both the Radisson Blue hotel and at World Duty Free, before giving you all a beauty haul afterwards of the treats I picked up for myself. It’s literally amazing for me – all my favourite beauty and makeup brands are in one place.

Urban Decay, MAC, Benefit, Smashbox, Bobbi Brown, Jo Malone, Kiehls, YSL, Estee Lauder

Speaking of Kiehls, I used the shopping trip as an excuse to try out some products from their blemish range, as I’m such a newbie to Kiehls. It’s only been a week or so but so far I’m seeing some incredible results from a blemish cleanser and toner I picked up – I’m literally over the moon!

I’m going to give these their own little review on YouTube next month I think, when it’s been a good few weeks trying them out.

You can simply watch my latest vlog here to have a nosy at what I picked up from World Duty Free, but I’ll also share some highlights here too.

It’s such a fantastic place to shop premium beauty at prices a little lower than you get in the department stores. If only I could shop at World Duty Free every week….

YSL All Hours Foundation, £32.75

I decided to treat myself to a foundation I’ve never used before, so went to investigate YSL. This one gives up to 24H long-wear, in which the innovative formula is waterproof and transfer-resistant. I’ve been using it since my trip and WOW – it really does give an instant full coverage which is flawless and without a mask-like effect.

It also controls any shine, and when applied with a buffing brush, almost looks airbrushed into my skin. Definitely a new favourite foundation of mine from now on…

Lancome Hynose Drama Trio Mascara Set £61.95

When anyone asks me for mascara recommendations, I tend to always say any by Lancome. I find them fantastic, so this trio set was definitely made for me!

The Hynose set features Lancôme’s full volume mascara, Hypnôse Drama. It has a curvaceous super-sized brush for full lash contact to create high volume and thicker looking lashes. It’s an essential in my makeup kit for when I do my bridal makeup…

Benefit Pore Professional Primer £36.40

This one is a personal favourite primer of mine, and when I do makeup for weddings, I tend to use this on those with oilier skins and enlarged pores. It’s literally like a miracle – you massage it into the bare skin (you can mix with a moisturiser or strobe cream too) and it goes on all velvet like and smooth.

I like to stock up on this when at the airport and shopping duty free!

Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover £17.25

Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover always sticks in my head as being one of the best eye makeup removers out there – especially for waterproof, long lasting mascara. It’s a bi-phase lotion which instantly removes all traces of eye make-up, including long-wearing and waterproof formulas.

An essential for me to pick up at the airport, especially when going on holiday as it’s fab for ensuring you don’t get last nights mascara smudging around your eyes when you go for a swim the next day!

Urban Decay NAKED Heat Palette £32.90

OK so I’m pretty sure I would struggle to find anyone who dislikes Urban Decay and their fabulous array of eyeshadow palettes! If you watch my vlog, you’ll see I bought TWO palettes – eeek! Obsessed much?

I just find World Duty Free a fabulous place to stock up on these, and the HEAT palette is one that I have my eye on due to the lovely array of warm bronze and neutral brown shades which are incredible for blue eyed ladies!

Giorgio Armani SI 50ml £57.40

And I can’t put together a hot list and miss out fragrance – one of the best bits of airport shopping! My favourite of all time is Giorgio Armani SI – it’s so chic, voluptuous, intense, and soft.

Sì is a fragrance that combines 3 notes: blackcurrant nectar, modern chypre, and blond wood musk with touches of freesia and May rose. It’s super girly, luxurious and sweet – I love it.

So there you go, a couple of my personal favourite items currently at World Duty Free at Manchester Airport. If you’re lucky enough to be jetting off soon from Manchester, I’d highly recommend paying a visit and holding back buying some of your beauty favourites, to take advantage of the better prices here!
