I don’t know about you, but I’ve hardly had chance to even blink and it’s already the end of March. Where is 2015 disappearing to? Anyway, as we are nearing the end of the month, I wanted to share with you a couple of skin saviours I have been introduced to and using throughout March, that I find are worth recommending. Just a couple of little beauty helpers for your skin and nails…
I was recently introduced to Q10 Revitalizing Day and Night cream pots after discussing how I wanted to switch my skincare products to those with a more natural, paraben free element. I suffer from the occasional break out, so my skincare does include using harsher products with salicyic or glycolic acid to try and keep these at bay. As much as I need these ingredients for control, they can be extremely drying, so it’s important to me to make sure the rest of my skincare products are as skin friendly and irritation free as possible.
The Q10 Day and Night Cream Set from Pharma Nord provides a complete moisturising treatment, with the Day Cream being specifically formulated to address the problems of dry skin and loss of collagen, with a targeted approach that delivers intense moisturisation. The Night Cream helps to intensively moisturise and regenerate skin overnight, leaving skin looking refreshed and feeling soft in the morning. So far, so good – I have even been sharing the Night Cream with my Mum, who is loving the smoothness and freshness of her skin first thing in the morning after a good nights sleep using this cream.
Co-enzyme Q10 combines with natural oils such as jojoba oil and apricot kernal oil to prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in these products, along with Pycnogenol which is a powerful antixoxident. These products are raved about online, with regular users seeing visible improvements within 6-8 weeks. At present, I’m feeling pretty confident as I am loving the texture and feel of my skin already, and feel Q10 is a lovely, safe skincare option if you wish to look after your skin as naturally as possible.
My next favourite is more hands and nail focused, and includes the Renunail Nail Strengthener, Evening Primrose Oil Capsules and Intensive Natural Solutions What Skin Needs Skin Balm. I want to try and ensure my nails stay strong, clear and healthy for the up-coming Spring/Summer, therefore a regular regime using these three products should be helping me maintain this.
The nail strenghener, from Dr Lewinns, is £17.50 for 30ml but lasts ages. You are advised to use it in ‘programmes’ to promote the best nail health- just paint it on like a clear nail polish with 2 coats, and repeat with one coat daily for the next 5 days. On the 7th day, remove with nail polish remover, and repeat the process another 3 times. Each programme lasts for 28 days. So far, my nails seem to remaining stronger and longer for long periods of time before any breakage appears, and I’m pretty confident that with repeated use, my nails are going to be rock solid for Summer!
As part of my pre-Summer nail regime, I’ve been using Skin Balm to correct any dry and damaged skin around my nails, as moisturised skin is the perfect preparation to healthy hands and nails. It’s a lovely little balm which encourages skin cell renewal and protects from environmental damage with it’s powerful natural ingredients. Any product with a combination of Sunflower Oil, Olive Oil, Lavender and Tea Tree Oil are always winners in my eyes.
As I know that beauty comes from the inside as well as the outside, I’ve also been adding a supplement of Evening Primrose Oil to my vitamin intake too. I’ve heard about the brilliant skin, hair and nail benefits that Evening Primrose Oil can deliver, but as I already take a daily supplement for hair along with Cod Liver Oil, I always held back taking any thing else. But this addition is meant to promote the ultimate healthiest of skin hair and nails within just 6 weeks, so I’ve been taking the Quest Vitamins version as seen above, £4.35 for 30 capsules.
And last but not least… what are these pretty colourful items I’ve been photographing? Introducing the Tinke Eyebrow Razor – my new clever way of timing and shaping my eyebrows, and removing any little hairs that appear on my face that need removing! These little razors in a sweet range of pastel hues contain a stainless steel blade, that when glided softly in a downwards stroke, remove any unwanted hair from the eyebrow, face and neck. Perfect for popping in your beauty bag for holidays or weekends away to ensure you are fuzz free and neatly groomed for the Summer!
I have been using these for my eyebrows and find them a really quick and safe way to make sure those pesky eyebrow regrowth hairs don’t get chance to grow through. I have really dark eyebrows naturally, so it’s important I keep on top of mine everyday. The Tinkle Eyebrow Razors have a stainless steel cover attached to each blade to protect sensitive skin and prevent any cutting, so I’d suggest these even for beginners. Take a look at them over here – such a bargain for £2.99 too.
A nice collection of beauty saviours that I’ll be looking forward to continuing to use for the new month of April… and hopefully, healthy skin, hair and nails will be mine!
