Beauty: Elemis Superfood Skincare System #FEEDYOURSKIN

Although I review a lot of beauty products, I always swear by one facial cleanser in particular when anyone asks me for my absolute favourite: Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash (200ml). It’s formally known as the Elemis Tri-Enzyme Cleanser, so I still slip up and call it by its former name from time to time!

I find that although the main aim of this cleanser is to encourage a speedier cell renewal for fresher, younger and firmer textured skin, it helps keep my acne at bay too. I may be 31, but I still suffer breakouts and occasional spots/under the skin lumps, and this cleanser has always helped keep me skin clear.

So, there’s a NEW Elemis skincare system just launched. Introducing the Elemis Superfood Skincare System, all focused around #FEEDYOURSKIN

The range of 4 new products are formulated with plant-based, nutrient-dense Superfoods and some with a natural sugar derived Pre-Biotic, the NEW Superfood Skincare System aims to help replenish skin with vital hydrating nourishment, for a healthy, outdoor-fresh glow.

Because the weather has been so dreadful lately, my skin is currently dull, dry, flaky, tired looking and I actually have some brand new spots. Great. My diet hasn’t been so great lately, as I’ve been stuck indoors consuming comfort foods, too much caffeine and a fair bit of sugar to ‘lift’ my spirits.

The result: meh… I’ve looked fresher to say the least.

Elemis kindly sent me the 4 new products which make up their highly talked about Superfood Skincare System, in a bid to #FEEDMYSKIN with the nutrients it deserves. The

What’s good for the body is good for the skin, so the collection consisting of Superfood Facial Wash, Superfood Day Cream and Superfood Night Cream joins the bestselling, award-winning new look Superfood Facial Oil, and I’ve started to use all 4 together for best results.

Here’s my thoughts on each:

Superfood Day Cream

Lets start with this illuminating moisturiser, packed with anti-oxidant rich oils and a vitamin-rich Supergreen Complex of Ginger, Matcha Tea and Goji Berry, as well as an active Pre-Biotic, said to help to balance, hydrate and smooth skin. It’s also designed to defend the skin’s natural eco-system against the environment.

It’s super light to use, although just two small pumps is more than enough to moisturise my face and neck. It’s very very lightly scented, quite fresh and plant scented if anything at all. It absorbs quickly and leaves a subtle glow almost immediately. So far, so good, and it seems to be keeping my skin hydrated and soft-to-touch, and dry skin kept away!

Superfood Night Cream

This richer cream is designed to let you wake up to an outdoor-fresh, healthy-looking complexion. The omega-rich overnight cream feeds the skin with a nourishing Superfood Grain Complex and an active Pre-Biotic, helping to defend the skin’s natural eco-system against the environment. It also features essential oil blends of Lavender, Ylang Ylang and Vetivert to help promote feelings of relaxation before sleep. It is a lovely, relaxing scent which is always nice to have sat lightly on your face and neck before sleeping!

So far, a real treasure to use, and I probably notice more ‘bigger’ results from this in terms of super soft, nourished and glowing skin in the morning. The products in this range haven’t had an impact on my breakouts yet, but my overall complexion looks less red, with faded marks, and that all round ‘clarity’.

Superfood Facial Wash

I was dubious at first to add another cleanser to my bathroom as I’d just stocked up on the Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Wash. But hey, it’s still Elemis, and I had high hopes!

This one aims to nourish the skin with the gel wash texture, packed with nutrient-dense Broccoli Seed, Avocado and Pumpkin Seed oils, combined with a natural, sugar derived Pre-Biotic to help ensure the skin’s precious microbiome balance is maintained. It also has Wheatgrass, Kale, Nettle and added minerals loaded in to help leave the complexion looking fresh, luminous, bright and radiant.

I feel that by using this in conjunction with the other products, it’s certainly helping to keep this luminosity my skins suddenly experiencing. It’s quite rich and lathers nicely, leaving me with a real clean complexion, and no traces of makeup left. Again, just a very light scent, no dryness, no redness – just beautiful to use!

Superfood Facial Oil

I’m saving my best until last, because this facial oil has been a god send when I was poorly last week and alllll the skin around my eyes, tops of cheeks and forehead literally turned to crust (sorry, I know that sounds disgusting!). Never before have I experience skin so dry, and everything within reach was stinging it. The only thing that didn’t was Vaseline (I know that’s bad, but I was at my wits end) and this facial oil.

It features a natural blend of highly concentrated Superfoods to treat the skin, like anti-oxidant and omega-rich Broccoli, Flax Seed and Daikon Radish to feed the skin. As well as intensely hydrating and moisturising, it helps to plump and smooth. Because again its so lightweight, non-greasy and easily absorbed, this oil leaves my skin balanced with a healthy, radiant glow.

It didn’t cause any aggravation to my severe dryness, and within 2 days, the skin was soothed and supple – the dryness finally fading away.

A lovely skincare collection which I feel with be very popular with those wanting a softer, hydrated, brighter complexion.
