5 Fashionable Winter Trends for Children

When December arrived, I found adults getting extremely excited about party wear, snuggly knits and getting those cosy bobble hats and scarves for themselves. However, this year, I totally gave myself a break from treating myself to lovely Winter wear, as something else seemed to have happened: I suddenly had so many children to buy for.

With the majority of my friends now being Mums, I had around 5-6 children under 5 to buy gifts for this Christmas. And when I enquired with the Mum’s on what to buy them, surprisingly, they all said clothes. So it seems that the kids want to be just as fashionable as adults for 2019…

I searched the internet (and Instagram, of course) to find 5 of the most stylish Winter finds for the little ones this year. And here they are…

Logos and Slogans

The move towards simplification of existing logos has been a trend for many years now. And it’s one that’s very much continuing into 2019.

This logo trend is partly about aesthetics, but it’s also about making your logo scalable at sizes where the logo is the focal point. Simple yet statement, and it gives Children a smarter take on streetwear.

A good brand to look at for your little ones is Baby Gap, who retail sweaters and tee’s adorned with the brands iconic logo, made fun yet simple. It looks bold and fashionable worn on little boys and girls outerwear and t-shirts, yet the brand inject an element of fun with flashes of rainbow colours and stripes.

Strawberry Children

I came across Strawberry Children when searching online for my niece, who turns 4 next year. She is super super super cute, and I know her parents like to treat her to some nice designer labels from time to time. Especially for those items they get a lot of wear out of, such as coats, shoes and jumpers. A few of my friends actually have very young baby girls, so I found some gorgeous designer baby clothes from Strawberry Children.

I spied some of the most adorable little designer items, such as matching sets from a brand called RaspberryPlum, sweet little shoes from Vivienne Westwood and Mini Melissa, but also, the most gorgeous pyjamas!

Tartan Dresses and Mini Suits

When looking for dressy, party inspired outfits, I found quite a few really cute tartan dresses in all lovely shades for girls, and mini tuxedo style suits for the boys. Just how sweet will little boys look in mini suits when they have formal parties to go to?

I spied that Children Salon have a few lovely options across these two trends, and make perfect gifts if you have both a young girl and a young boy to buy for.

Personalised Robes

Now this has to be one of the loveliest gifts you can give for children this year, whether it’s for birthdays, Easter, Christmas or beyond. Especially if one of your friends has just had a newborn baby. Or, if a little one has just recently turned one.

Personalised robes can come with little ears to replicate mini bears, or just with a hood and the childs name embroidered onto the rob. I find My 1st Years have a fair few good options here, and all robes come gift boxed and packaged beautifully.

Faux Fur Outerwear

Who said faux fur was an adult trend? Children look super cute wearing faux fur, be it in the form of faux fur shalls that sit around their neck, or little cropped jackets and coats.

Most of the High Street retailers such as George at ASDA, Marks and Spencer and Debenhams stock so many cute faux fur coats for the little girls, in all different shades. Keep them warm and wrap them up in style!
