One thing I haven’t mastered the art of yet since being pregnant and having Olivia is working out. It’s become a ‘task’ that I will go to great lengths to put off, and no matter how hard I try to get back into it, it seems to be a chore to me.
That being said, I am extremely more active in general. I literally don’t stop – I run around the house constantly after Olivia, we go for more walks than ever before, on outings which involve being constantly on the go, and of course, housework and general tasks have tripled. This has meant that I do try to steal a few sessions of working out at home, either to a quick 10 minute YouTube video, or simply grabbing my 3lb weights and doing some quick arm sessions.
As the reality of me getting back into my regular gym trips and classes is looking slimmer and slimmer, i’m hoping to try and take up yoga or pilates soon. Not only would this be an excuse for me to leave the house on a weekday evening for some quality ‘me’ time, but it would also help me focus on calming my busy mind and learning new rituals.
And on that note, I’m now fully kitted out with some fabulous workout wear which I know I’m going to love wearing to my upcoming classes. Although in the meantime, I’ve been wearing them in the house, with a snug sweater over the top too.
Light Support Leggings
When I was first introduced to Yvette, I browsed the array of sports leggings but a particular pair jumped out at me. Not only are the Anywhere Soft Mesh Yoga Leggings a lovely looking pair of leggings, with a seamless, body sculpting look, but the colour I found in them is just so pretty! They come in the soft pink shade, which has a subtle lilac tone to it ‘in real life’.

These leggings are perfect for yoga, studio class & everything in between, which in my world means running around after a little one, going for pram walks, doing house work and being generally ‘busy’. They are made with a second-fit feel, and have a soft and breathable fabric which kinda ‘holds you in’ giving light support.
I feel like when I’m wearing these particular light support leggings, they hold me in but not too much, just enough to firm up and ‘perk up’ my bottom and thighs. When I wear them, I can pull them up quite high for a high-waisted finish. Plus, I’m always a fan of full length leggings, as 3/4 just freak me out about my sock choices, haha!
It depends what type of workout exercise you want to be doing, and how being active fits into your daily life, but I know with me, I like to feel supported more than anything. I’m not too obsessive about the amount of steps I take or the calories burned, but I do like to be on-the-go constantly, staying fit and active, and feeling supported yet stylish.
Power Cross Back Padded Running Bra
Usually I wear crop tops, but they’ve just been the standard style crop tops in lyrca or fitted cotton. However, when I had a look at the offerings at Yvette, I found a brilliant selection of high support sports bras.

They still look similar to the typical stylish sports crop tops, but because they are high support sports bra, they come with extra supportive features. I have the Power Cross Back Padded Running Bra in dark grey, and it comes with non-removable moulded cups so straight away my chest is supported yet looks like it has added shape and boost too, without flattening my chest. I love the V-shape neckline, and the air holes in front and the stretchy & sweat-wicking fabric makes it an airy top to wear, despite it looking very fitted and thick material wise.
I’ve had supportive bra tops before which have featured underwiring, and I can tell you now that really didn’t feel great when I was rushing around and then trying to relax afterwards. It’s an uncomfortable feature really!
I’ve also got a pair of high-waisted yoga shorts too from Yvette which I’ll be sharing on here soon, as they are such a great quality pair of shorts. So supportive and fitted without being too tight, and they look and feel like they hold me in a little, keeping my bottom and thighs from jiggling!
Yvette’s offerings give help and support for the diverse roles of modern women in life, mainly providing support during your workout. But like I mentioned before, Yvette will support you in daily life, too, especially if you’re a busy mama like myself. Worth checking out!
