Stila Vivid & Vibrant Makeup Review and Tutorial

A couple of weeks ago, I headed to Harvey Nichols in Manchester to spend an afternoon with a couple of beauty bloggers and the team from Stila. With the aim of the meet-up to cover the new makeup launches at Stila along with enjoying afternoon tea, I couldn’t really think of a better way to spend the afternoon!

As I’m a makeup artist alongside being a beauty blogger, I’m already a huge fan of Stila.

Some of the products I swear by include the Perfect Me Perfect Hue Eye & Cheek Palette that is in my everyday makeup bag, and more recently, the Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow, and the Aqua Glow Serum concealer and foundation.

However, I love nothing more than exploring new products and adding them to my every growing Pro MUA kit for my clients (mainly brides – I love doing wedding makeup) and my own personal kit.

So lets take a look at the products I’m loving…

Firstly, I listened to the inspirational Sascha Jackson – Stila’s Lead Pro Artist & Trainer – introduce some new products, and some sassy new shades amongst some of the brands original lines. The main theme is around the Vivid & Vibrant collection, a range of bold, brave and beautiful colours, textures and finishes.

The array of products to explore was fascinating. Stila always seem to capture that dazzling ‘wow’ factor about makeup.

Some of the products on show, being passed around and tried out included the already much-loved Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows (a firm fan already!), which I cannot rave about enough.

Also, the All Day Liquid Lipsticks, and the Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows were there to explore, which are up there with my favourites.

But there were some products completely new to me too, such as the Heavens Dew Highlighter and Eyeshadow Duos, as shown above (and the highlighter has been added to the tops of my cheeks on the photo below – wowsers it’s a gorgeous one!)

Sascha demonstrated some of the striking colours of the Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow and Shimmer & Glow liquid shadows on her model, along with the Heavens Hue highlighter, which I fell madly in love with.

Before I share all my photos from the event so you can see some of the products (and the yummy Harvey Nichols Afternoon Tea!) in full view, I’m just going to pop in one of my latest YouTube videos, which features my latest makeup tutorial, whilst I’m focusing on covering acne at the moment.

I apply the Heavens Dew Highlighter and the Smokey Quartz Eyeshadow Duo in the video, and I’m sure you’ll agree they are by far THE BEST products I’m using in my tutorial. So glowy, so glam, and just so damn beautiful…

Our afternoon with Stila took place in the stunning new Beauty Rooms on the 1st floor of Harvey Nichols. Here, we all explored the gorgeous Vivid and Vibrant makeup collections, played around with swatches on our hands, had makeovers carried out by the super talented Sascha, and nibbled on cake of course!

How pretty is this set up?

I literally LOVE the new colours of the Vivid & Vibrant Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows. You’ve got all your wicked and wild greens, purples, blues and raspberries. These will be amazing to keep in my pro makeup kit for those fun, daring looks. Or even when clients need their eyes bringing out with a colour popping shade added to the lash line.

For me, I keep my look a little more stripped back. Therefore, my favourites were the Oh My Stars Glitter & Glow liquid eyeshadows, which came in the most glittering golds, bronze and silvers imaginable.

I love these used as ‘eye shadow toppers’. So I can apply whatever shade I like to my lids (usually browns or greys to make my blue eyes pop) and then layer on a touch of glitter (a little goes A LONG way too!).

As you’ve probably guessed by now, the Stila Heavens Dew Highlighter Glimmer is my very very favourite. It is actually really soft to touch, a little like a cushion, and the smallest touch on my highlighter brush delivers the most glowing gleam to the skin.

And after that, of course it’s the Vivid & Vibrant Eyeshadow Duo, in shade Smokey Quartz. Again, these come in the most gorgeous shades, but a smokey brown always wins with me.

It comes in a gorgeous case, showing two vivid and vibrant eye shadows, both giving maxed out pigment and vibrant metallic sheen. Each duo contains a sparkle and coordinating metallic shade, and this smokey brown shade works wonders on my blue eyes.

Thank you Stila and Harvey Nichols for a fantastic day exploring the range!
