As most of you will know, we moved house around 8 weeks ago, and one of the nicest things for us is having that extra bedroom space upstairs so that we no longer have to combine a bedroom and an office in one. Since the pandemic, and even a little before then, home offices have become a ‘thing’ – it’s like everyone wants one. It’s a dedicated space in the home where you can separate home tasks with work tasks, having your own desk purely for work – and not to be littered with kitchen items or whatever else creeps onto your surface when your balancing a laptop on a worktop!
Our home office is a work in progress, but in the meantime, we’re enjoying having a single bedroom sized space purely for work. It’s a new build home, so we have fresh white walls and light grey thick and fluffy carpet, so it really is a fresh canvas to make it what we want.
So, first things first: every good office space needs a quality desk. Getting a desk ticked off our list was a main one for us, as everything else can wait. I have to say I like to mix it up a bit, but I’m usually a ‘sitter’. My partner on the other hand has to watch his back, and he enjoys many hours having the desk at standing height. Another fabulous little find is the anti-collision function. But above all, it’s very stylish and sleek modern design blends in perfectly with the rest of our new build home, so I couldn’t love this desk more. It’s been the perfect addition. It does have a high price point, and when it gets delivered it comes in two extremely heavy boxes. I definitely needed my partner to carry it upstairs and assemble it for me as it was just too heavy for me to do!
