Oscars: Hair and Beauty Special

Here we have the fabulous beauty contributor Carole Hughes share with What Emma Did readers her hair and beauty highlights from the weekend’s Oscars!

From beautiful buns to fiery red hot lips, take a look at the hair and beauty looks all the Hollywood A-listers were wearing on the red carpet at last weekend’s Oscar’s Award Ceremony.

Anne Hathaway

Oscars 2011 host Anne Hathaway plumped for a bold red lip to match her scarlet Valentino dress. Impeccably pencilled in brows and ultra long lashes completed her look while her hair was gathered into a relaxed chignon. Stunning yet reserved.

Amy Adams

Adding a swoop of blush to her beautiful porcelain skin, Amy opted for a radiant glow on the red carpet with a glossy rose lip and violet-grey eye shadow to match her jewel covered dress. Parting her hair to the side with a tender wave, she proved pinned back styles are not the only way to wear your hair for a red carpet event.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Looking flawlessly polished, Gwyneth’s light blonde locks have been styled into this season’s must-have middle parting and straightened. Completing her look with low-key brown eye makeup, highlighted cheeks and gloss on her lips, it can be summed up as a mature take on beach beauty.

Hailee Steinfeld

Ticking the fashion trends and now the hair and beauty box, her large ballerina bun is refined without looking harsh, while the skinny headband adds a touch of pizzazz to her overall outfit. Not overstating her makeup, the 14 year old gets it spot on with a dash of rosy pink on her cheeks and bushy brows. Beautiful!

Natalie Portman

Being pregnant without doubt has not changed Natalie Portman’s style ability. Wearing her hair in a side parting, she loosely tonged her locks and allowed them to tumble over her shoulder and onto her collarbone highlighting her striking

Mila Kunis

Wearing the style of the Oscars 2011 season, Mila Kunis wore a relaxed bun with soft waves and a side sweeping fringe. Being a lustrous brunette, her dark smoky eyes gave her a smouldering stare while the rest of her makeup was left relaxed.

Halle Berry

Focusing on her eyes, Halle opted for a smoky stare with a modern-day twist. Combining a deep brown with a metallic silvery grey in the corner of her sockets, it was eye-catching without being over the top. Keeping her lips nude with just a touch of gloss, she continues to manage to work that pixie crop hair style also.
