Mothers Day is approaching, and as usual, it makes me realise how lucky I am to have a Mum like mine. She is appreciated everyday, but when Mother’s Day arrives, I love the thought of making sure who knows it – even thougb I know she already does know it every single day! But there’s something special about letting it be known on a particular day of the year, as sometimes, we can all be guilty of getting wrapped up in daily life and not showing it as much as we’d ike.
It’s definitely a pretty special Mothers Day this year, as it’s officially my first one as a Mummy myself! That means that the special person in my life this Mothers Day – my lovely Mum – gains her third grandchild (my sister has two children already). So this Mother’s Day, she has three lovely grandchildren to celebrate the day with!
This is why Mothers Day is super special, as it’s a chance to celebrate grandmothers, great grandmothers, and mother figures alike. It’s even a chance to tell first time mums (or 2nd, 3rd or 4th! and beyond) what a good job they are doing!

This year, I’m preparing with a selection of pampering gifts for my Mum, to enjoy from myself and baby Olivia. I was made aware about the popular card and gift website Moonpig offering an extensive amount of gifts perfect for Mothering Sunday, so I had a little look at what they are offering.
Of course, if you’re like me, you’ll know that they are the most loved and ‘go to’ online site to cater for our card needs. Personalised cards can’t be easy enough to sort out via Moonpig, especially if you want to make it extra special by adding photos etc! I’ve always found that the array of cards is just brilliant – you can get one’s for every occasion and message, but more so, to suit just about any person. And Mothers Day is no different: you can personalise and customise so many of their card designs to make it ideal for your Mother figure. I always send a personalised mothers day card from the site every year!

The photos above show off a rather pretty food hamper – the Tea and Bubbles Hamper – from Moonpig which is pretty much a delicious set of treats packed into the cutest heart shaped tray. It contains a pack of cream biscuits, strawberry and champagne conserve, a tasty chocolate slab, rose fizz, a cherry and almond cake and herbal teabags.
Now the next set of gifts I find are just truly timeless. Never believe anyone who says flowers, a bottle of wine and a card is ‘generic’ – it’s popular for a reason! Find me a Mum – or a lady in general – who doesn’t enjoy a gorgeous bouquet of flowers or a plant, along with a bottle of quality wine. I’ll challenge you! I see it as with a mothers day plant or bouquet of flowers, you can’t go wrong. The sunshine yellow flowers in a sleek silver pot along with a bottle of rose I picked out below are truly lovely to brighten up any Mum’s day out there. They instantly cheer anyone up and will always go down a treat – especially if you pick a floral arrangement and type to suit your Mother figure, along with a nice wine you know she’ll enjoy (If I was choosing, it would be ridiculously hard because I equally love white, rose and red!)

Of course, there may be Mother figures out there who would rather skip of a bottle of fizz or wine, and prefer a relaxing, pampering beauty set instead. This is why Sanctuary Spa are a featured brand over at Moonpig, putting together carefull curated gift sets for an array of pampering needs.
This Special Occasion Hamper from Sanctuary Spa can be given for any occasion – as the name states – but in my opinion is perfect for Mothers Day over any other occasion. It contains a handpicked selection of luxurious self-care products, from a large bath float to a foaming shower gel, heel balm, hand cream and body wash, all encased in a premium keepsake style box.

Sticking to the beauty theme, skincare is something that women appreciate and love to incorporate into their beauty regimes. Most Mum’s are too buys looking after their children, running a household and juggling a job to give themselves the self-care and wellbeing they deserve. Sometimes, all it takes is the gift of quality skincare to make them realise that they should really encourage that ‘time out’ for pampering themselves.
This lovely detox set from thisworks features a detox cleansing water wash for removing makeup, dirt and grime at the end of the day, and a detox clay mask. I was really impressed to see brands such as Sanctuary Spa and thisworks appear on Moonpig, as it’s nice to be able to add these extra gifts to a thoughtful card order to add that extra special ‘treat’ gift.

It’s been a funny old year since the pandemic kicked in, meaning I’ve not been able to see my Mum as much as I usually would. I would always stay over one night a week, yet this past twelve months has really limited any quality time. Things might not be back to normal yet for Mothering Sunday, but it’s reassuring to be able to send lovely gifts with meaning direct to Mums around the UK.
I’ve got my card ready along with an armful of beautiful gifts to make her smile. Thank you Moonpig for making the gift process so easy and inspiring!
