Lifestyle: The Best Personalised Coffees

I recently did a little total-up of money spent over the past month purely on coffee, and I was astounded. It’s safe to say I’m a true coffee addict, enjoying a cup of strong, creamy goodness every morning at around 11 am.

Saying that though, I do usually just buy the one cup a day. But it’s always shop bought, as opposed to the standard coffee granules you see on the supermarket shelves.

I don’t actually drink coffee as my ‘wake-up’ caffeine fix, it’s always my 11 am treat. I’ll always opt for a mug of pure green tea first thing in the morning with a bowl of cereal. And then when I have that long, dragging time gap between breakfast and lunch, I find it’s the perfect time to indulge in coffee.

In a bid to save money this year and kick my takeaway coffee habit (I’m aiming to save 10k this year!), I’m looking at investing in good quality coffee machines. I’ve seen the lovely, good quality coffee machines you find in offices and work spaces, like my favourite style from Honest Coffees, which has inspired me to own something like this.

They properly use coffee beans and milk fused together to produce an expertly made cup of coffee – without the need for a barrister.

I’m also trying to be more creative with my coffee’s, adding different milks and syrups to create my own flavours. I thought I’d share some of my favourite ones I’ve been making myself, in a bid to save my money from coffee shop spending, and be a little more creative at home!

The Almond Gingerbread Delight

  • Using a coffee machine (or cafeteria if you don’t have one) blend one shot of espresso with ¾ almond milk.
  • Use sweetened almond milk for a real sweet taste, or unsweetened for a stronger, nuttier taste.
  • Drop in ½ teaspoon of Gingerbread syrup.

The Cinnamon Soy

  • Using a coffee machine (or cafeteria if you don’t have one) blend one shot of espresso with ½ cup of soya milk.
  • Top up with hot water.
  • Drop in ½ teaspoon cinnamon coffee syrup.
  • Sprinkle a light dusting of ground cinnamon and stir

The Dark Sweet Dash

  • Brew a cup of strong, long, black coffee.
  • Using original oat milk (which has a subtle sweet taste) add a drizzling to the black coffee.
  • Oat milk is naturally thick and creamy, so just a little bit will thicken up the coffee and add a sweet kick.
