We all want to be as healthy as possible, but what with looking after the kids, going to work, and everything else we have to fit into our 24 hours each day, it can be a lot harder to maintain optimum health than we would like.
The good news is, there are lots of simple lifestyle swaps you can probably make to ensure that your life is a little (or even a lot) healthier than it was yesterday.
Swap soda for sparkling water
If you’re a cola quaffer or a Fanta fiend, then you know that you are either getting too much sugar or taking in a lot of chemicals, both of which can add to your waistline and make you feel less than your best. Swap your sodas for sparkling water with a hint of orange, lemon or your favourite herbal tea bags and it won’t be long before you’re feeling 100 percent better.
Swap smoking for vaping
If you’re a smoker, you know how bad it is for your health. It’s increasing your risk of various cancers, upping your heart disease risk and running your teeth amongst other things. Luckily, there is a simple fix in the form of swapping your cigarette for one of these great pod kits. You’ll still be able to get your smoking fix without any of the actual smoking or the various chemicals that drag your health down – what’s not to like?
Swap driving for walking
Or cycling. Obviously, there are times when you will need to take the car, but if you’re just popping to the local shops or whatever, walking is easy, free and it will help you to burn calories and tone up. Cycling will take you even further, so if you have a trip of a few miles, consider tasking a bike instead of a car instead. It’ll do you the world of good.

Swap sitting for standing
This is one of the hardest swaps to stick to, but if you can do it, you will burn more calories, improve your posture, and potentially even extend your life, so it’s worth a try. Instead of standing to do your work, watch the TV, read a book or whatever activity it is, try standing instead. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but pretty soon you’ll get used to it, and your health will improve so much as a result.
Swap meat for plants
You don’t have to go the whole hog and become a vegan, but if you can swap your meat-based proteins for plant-based sources such as chickpeas or tofu once or twice a week, not only will you have fun experimenting with new flavours, but you’ll get more nutrients into your diet and lower your fat consumption while also increasing your fibre intake.
Swap scrolling for meditating
How much time do you spend scrolling mindlessly on your phone? Put the mobile down for a little while close your eyes and focus on your breath. https://www.getmindful.co.uk/ and you’ll soon start to feel less stressed and more peaceful, which is what we all want – right?
These simple swaps will pack a healthy punch!
