I have to be completely honest – as much as I am an avid ‘pinner’, I haven’t long been swept away by the Pinterest obsessed world. I mean, I always loved it, but found myself more of a browser, scrolling down endlessly at arty photos of stylish interiors or cute blonde hairstyles, before shutting down and forgetting all the inspiration I’d spent hours admiring. However, during the past few months, I’ve been turning my hand at creating Pinterest boards myself more often, actually pinning my own photographs to my boards and making little What Emma Did galleries of the things I love. And now… I’m addicted. A full on Pinterest addict, excitedly pinning my nicely styled birds-eye view photos of food and drink from around Manchester’s eateries. I’ve also been putting a lot of my make-up photos on there too, and have found a lot of people have been clicking through to my blog from them, which must mean they are getting a little bit of interest!
However, I am a complete sucker for home inspiration more than any other topic that Pinterest delivers. I find myself eagerly re-pinning other people’s living rooms, bedrooms and home offices religiously, and I’m totally guessing I’m not alone. One area I have found so much inspiration with lately is the use of magazines as decoration, and wall galleries being displayed on shelving. I always keep my collection of magazines as I value them like bibles: Elle, Vogue, ID, Dazed and Confused. Each and every one is precious, and I often seek ideas on how to display these in a stylish way.
