Lifestyle: Healthy Green Juice Recipe

So my kitchen has a couple of new additions to it this weekend. Nope, I don’t mean any new equipment or fancy cooking utensils, something just as exciting in my eyes though! I have a rather nice selection of Coconut Oil Butter and Organic Protein Powders currently sitting pretty in my cupboard…

As I now own a number of Organic Protein Powders, I wanted to start incorporating them into my diet as soon as possible in order to ensure I am getting sufficient protein. I am not really a big meat eater, therefore sometimes I worry I miss out on essential protein in my everyday foods. For today’s post, I have whipped together the most simple yet effective superfood green juice, where I have been adding a scoopful of protein powders to my juices and smoothies to ensure my protein intake isn’t being let go.

This one in particular uses Indigo Herbs Organic Hemp Protein Powder, which is an Omega oil rich, vegetarian source of easily digestible Protein made from the finest quality dried and milled whole Hemp seeds. Organic Hemp Protein powder can be added to a little liquid and taken daily, making a great addition to a superfood smoothie.

I blended together x1 tablespoon of the Protein Powder with a cup of spinach, a cup of kale, a cup of blueberries and half a teaspoon of coconut butter to add a sweeter taste. I blended the superfoods together for 30 seconds, where the final result is a green juice packed with optimum nutrition. The combination of these superfoods mixed with the Hemp Protein Powder means this green juice in particular is full of iron, protein, omega 3 and 6, vital vitamins, and botanical based organic ingredients.

If you take an interest in health and well-being, I recommend getting into the habit of creating your own green juices regularly and adding in a small amount of Protein Powder. Protein is an important component of every cell in the body- your hairĀ and nails are mostly made of protein and your body uses protein to build and repair tissues. You also use protein to make enzymes, hormones, and other body chemicals.

As well as the Organic Hemp, I have also been trialing using the Chia Seed and the Barleygrass – mixing these up on a daily or weekly basis allows me to ensure I am getting an all round health kick.
