Lifestyle: Becoming a Full Time Writer, Journalist + Influencer

Every now and again, I provide a bit of a ‘life update’ on What Emma Did, and in all honesty, a recent one has been waaaaay overdue!

I’ll get straight into it: from March, I will officially be a full time journalist and blogger, producing content for both What Emma Did and Lovin Manchester. I have always dedicated a lot of my time (and life in general) to the running of, and each year it grows and grows. And I love it – I wouldn’t have things any other way!

I combine it with a lot of things, but freelancing and writing about fashion, beauty, food, fitness, travel and lifestyle is the main one. So when Lovin Manchester approached me about joining them as a chief lifestyle journalist, allowing me to continue putting time and effort into growing, I jumped at the chance. Some would say it’s a dream opportunity. For me, I say it’s a huge HELLOOOOOOO 2018!

I’m constantly reviewing restaurants, bars, beauty products, salons, spas, hotels, treatments, and all sorts in and around Manchester and Cheshire. And now, I can officially say I do it as the daily hustle: I’ll be reporting on what’s hot, what’s not, and everything between in and around Manchester on a daily basis.

You’ll get to see much more content appearing on What Emma Did too, of course on this website and my Instagram, but also on my shiny new YouTube channel, which I promise will get up kick-started soon.

I’ll be spending 3 days a week working from Manchester City Center, and 2 days from the nice comfort of my home, in Newcastle Under Lyme, close to Cheshire. I’ll be bringing you everything you need to know about everrrrrything important around the North West, whether its breaking news, or the best place to get a dairy free indulgent milkshake in the city.

I’ll be attending more blogger events, press shows, trade shows, so basically, you’ll be hearing lots lots more from me. Whether that’s a bad thing for some of you, I really don’t know, but I sincerely hope not (inserts winking face)…

One of the things I’ll be looking at and considering when working all over the place, getting content ideas and producing fun and informative online activity is work space. Because working on involves a bit of travel too, there will be some days (especially weekends) where I’ll be working from different cities around the North West. Liverpool is a favourite of mine as I work closely with the PR guys at Harvey Nichols and the Met Quarter, and I also have a new facialist in Liverpool I’ll be producing blog content for. Luckily, when I was searching for office space Liverpool, I found some super cool co-working spaces which are literally divine!

The shared office space Liverpool I spied is by Signature Living, and the sassy offices let you have access to meeting rooms and break out spaces, free gym memberships and places to run workshops.

I’m more than comfortable working on my own, but sometimes it’s nice to have a classy little office space isn’t it? It’s like a mind over matter thing, you just feel a little more important.

My new full time blogger and journalist status comes in to play from the end of January, so in the meantime, keep tuning in to the What Emma Did world here, and on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I also want to say a huuuuuge thank you to those who have stuck by me through this whole journey, and watched me juggle running everything and (sometimes!) falling apart at the seams!

Lots more content from me in 2018, and I promise it will only get bigger and better…
