I’ve always been a huge fan of facial cleansing devices, as I honestly feel that our skin needs that extra helping hand when it comes to cell renewal and light exfoliation.
Liquid, gel or cream facial cleansers and exfoliators work great on the skin when massaged in with hands and warm water, but there’s only an extent to the resuls. I firmly believe that if you want a deeper clean, increased skin cell renewal and turnover for newer, fresher skin, a cleansing device in the form of a brush or silicone device is ideal.
One that I tried out recently is Liberex’s latest travel-size cleaning device. It’s a cute looking rounded cleansing device which comes with three-speed settings: power clean, delicate, and soft. I’d highly advise starting off with soft or delicate until your skin gets used to the bristle cleansing action, then mixing it up and introducing a power clean perhaps 1-2 times a week.
Along with this advice, it’s handy to know that the three distinct brush points are designed to work with different skin types. Those with sensitive skin should use the soft and delicate settings, where are those with normal, combination, aging, dry and oily may benefit more from the power clean. Whichever setting you feel best with, each one works to help reduce sebum and improve the surface-level skin tone.
With the rotating and vibration of the bristles, the skin cells are sped up in terms of renewal, meaning that acne scars and dullness are encouraged to fade away quicker. With regular use, you should notice that your skin looks clearer, healthier, and therefore more flawless.
It doesn’t happen overnight but you will definitely notice an improvement after the first go, mainly with the feel of your skin. After my first go, my skin felt super smooth, like I had been for a microdermabrasion treatment almost! And I’d say after one week of use, my skin tone looked clearer and brighter, and I had a reduction in surface oil and breakouts.
My main problem is scarring and pigmentation, which takes longer to see results. However, the improved clarity and smooth texture that I’m seeing makes me feel positive I’ll see these results very soon!
One of the clever things about this device is that it includes a 20s Smart Reminder. Basically what this means is that the device sends an alert every 20 seconds to prompt the user to alter the position of the brush. So I start by using it on my right cheek, then my left, then nose and chin, and then finish on the forehead.
It’s fairly simple to keep charged, as it comes battery-powered with a wireless charging dock. The device takes 1.5 hours to be charged entirely from when you first use it, then takes 2 minutes to use every day (you can use it twice a day if you like but I’m quite happy just using it in the evenings).
One of the main positives about this cute little egg shaped cleansing device is the price point: it’s only £22.99 – which is so much cheaper than most facial cleansing brush devices out there! It’s waterproof so it’s totally fine to keep in the shower, and I find it ideal for popping in my bag if I’m to be heading off anywhere for the night (not happening right now of course!).
I would say that overall, the pro’s are that it’s a super handy size, which makes it easy to use daily and also for any travel. It’s effective and does what it says – it deep cleanses and renews the skin. It’s simple and straightforward, and the charge/battery life is ideal. When it comes to the cons, I’d say it’s a little tricky to clean as makeup and dirt can get trapped in the bristles, so it’s key to fully wash and clean the brush before the next use. With it being bristles, you do have to spend a bit of time making sure these are super clean.
