Hair: Detangle with Michel Mercier

I don’t know about you but everytime I go to a hair salon, I dread the part when you head back to the chair after sitting at the back wash, and the stylist starts to comb through your soaking wet hair. The reason I dread it so much is that my hair, when wet, is one big knotted mess. Literally. I have no idea why – yes it’s highlighted frequently but even when I was a child and a drop of dye had never even touched it, it was still the same matted mess.

Watching the stylists face as she tugs and pulls is traumatic enough, and no detangling sprays and creams out there that have stepped in have never really improved the situation. So when I heard about this little invention the other day, I wondered if a miracle product may have emerged.

I can’t review it as I haven’t managed to get my hands on one yet, but this ‘Untangle Your Day’ Detangle Brush by hairdresser Michel Mercier is my last hope. If any of you have the same problem as me, then maybe it’s something you could look into too. The brush is uniquely designed and is made up of 428 bristles positioned at different heights, helping to disperse the pressure placed on hair during brushing. There are three brushes designed to work with each type of hair: Fine, Normal and Thick (the fine one has my name on it…)

The brush retails at £14.95 and is available to purchase at the newly launched website Definitley something I’m purchasing on payday. Or perhaps for the Christmas list…
