Guerlain Pop Up Arrives at Selfridges Exchange Square

Last week, I headed down to Selfridges Exchange Square, Manchester, to explore a stunning new pop up situated at the beauty floor. For those familiar with Selfridges Exchange Square, you’ll know it has the most impressive dedicated beauty space taking over the lower ground floor.

It’s a truly beautiful beauty haven. From MAC and La Mer, to Charlotte Tilbury and Jo Malone, it’s home to some of the most luxurious and indulgent beauty brands around.

And now, until March 2020, Guerlain is the latest beauty brand to set up a pretty pop up, showcasing everything that the French brand has to offer. Perfectly place for the upcoming Christmas gifting season, especially with their limited edition ranges.

I met with the Guerlain team last week to be shown around the lovely counter, which was also a chance to explore the limited edition Christmas products. Firstly, I discovered a fabulous fragrance section, which offers a perfume personalisation service. You can choose the Guerlain fragrance you would love to gift, pick one of the beautifully bright coloured glass bottles, adding ribbons and personalisation as you please.

Such a thoughtful and personal gift idea for the fragrance lovers this Christmas!

As I had an event to attend later that evening, the lovely ladies at the Guerlain counter gave me a little makeover, trying out the Guerlain foundations, blushers and lipsticks.

The Parure Gold foundation sounds absolutely fantastic! You all know I’m a true foundation fanatic, always trying out new ones and falling in love with the high quality formulas. Not only does this one look precious and premium in it’s sleek gold bottle, it’s also designed to add radiance, smooth away the appearance of fine lines, and has a delicate light floral scent to it, too.

But for now, lets go onto the limited edition Guerlian Christmas products I have been trying out since my visit…

Firstly, let’s all take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this palette. This Guerlain Goldenland Palette hosts a harmony of 10 eyeshadows, across an array of matte and metallic shades, which can be applied to the eyelids as both dry or wet looks depending on the intensity.

The case is simply stunning, with it’s glistening gold hard care opening up to reveal a combination of golden, coppery and muted blush shade eyeshadows, suitable for all eye colour shades. These shades are highly pigmented, so a little touch of colour goes a long way.

Also, the golden case can be kept as a keepsake after the palette has been used up! It retails at £59 from Guerlain at Selfridges, but you can check it out online here too.

Another limited edition item for the Christmas period is the Guerlain Terracotta Goldenland powder, an iridescent highlighting powder which has that touch of bronze to it.

Guerlain’s Goldenland Terracotta powder for the festive season takes on a little twist to the traditional Guerlain Terracotte powder. Inspired by a trip to the heart of the desert, it’s flecked with golden undertones that capture the light with its fine pearlescent particles, giving that subtle shimmer effect.

I’ve been having a go at using this lightly on top of my contour bronzer, or lightly above my cheeks as a warmer take on highlighter. And again, it comes in a faceted golden case – meaning you can keep the case afterwards too.

This retails at £42 and has that real ‘special’ feel to it. It’s designed to be perfect for all skin tones, however I feel those with warmer undertones will definitely get the most joy from this lovely powder! It really brings out the warm tones and adds that subtle sheen without being too OTT.

As part of the Guerlain limited edition range, there is also the most elegant lipstick I’ve ever seen. Or at least in a long long time anyway! You know when you think of the glamorous 1920’S when ladies had luxury lipstick cases and mirrored holders? Well I feel like this lipstick captures that feel.

So over the next couple of weeks, I’m going to try out the Guerlain products I kindly was gifted from the new pop up counter at Selfridges, and come back to you on here with a full review. I mean, I’m pretty blown away literally from the packaging alone, but it’s time to give these luxury products a good go myself.

Be sure to check back while I try out Guerlain properly for the first time!
