Fashion: #TweetSeatMarch at Manchester Arndale

The other week, I headed to an event at Manchester Arndale to view a collection of Summer 2013 trends across a number of retailers. An area of Manchester Arndale was designed as a ‘Big Brother’ style funky seating area, called the ‘TweetSeatMarch’, surrounded with rails of clothing and accessories showcasing the latest trends, and 2 uber-cool chairs. A selection of Manchester’s press attended in groups, to check out the latest from NEXT, Superdry and Bank. I headed over with a fellow fashion blogger as we were talked through a range of trends by Manchester Arndale’s Personal Shopper Debs.

First up, we viewed a rail of on-trend fashions from NEXT, which showcased monochrome, cobalt blue and brights. The selection of clothes are all really good value for money and of a great quality. You can always ensure satisfactory quality from NEXT, which is a reason I love the brand. I also took home with me a gorgeous neon orange clutch bag which looks awesome teamed up with dark clothes to really make a statement – or fellow brights when  it eventually gets warmer!

The next retailer’s trends we viewed were those at BANK – including the new Tulisa clothing range which I hadn’t yet had chance to take a look at before. Trends coming through for this High St retailer were predominatley grunge – lots of stripes, studs and spike embellishments, and again, monochrome – black and white in simple prints, and disco pants! Which I absolutley adore at the moment by the way, I think they are a little risky to wear for the more self conscious, but if you have the confidence to slip into a pair of sandy-inspired trousers, then why not! Teamed with this season’s crop tops, you have a laid back look for both evenings and nights out.

…And a little bit of floral and vintage coming through at NEXT

Take a look at the uber-cool chairs designed for the fashion event!

Last but not least, we viewed a more casual, relaxed range of fashions from Superdry. I was pleasantly suprised at the amount of trends featured this season at Superdry for SS13, again monochrome was present, followed by florals, cobalts, and a huge sixties influence, which I thoroughly enjoyed viewing as I do love a bit of sixties coming back into fashion. I also realised it was time I started to build up my collection of sports luxe style tee’s so I took away with me a blue/grey marl cropped number t-shit to wear either underneath a blazer for a smart look, or pair with denim shorts for the warmer months. Loving my first Superdry purchase!

It was a lovely afternoon being showcased all the latest trends from three big fashion players, all with a different customer in mind yet all displaying a trendy mix of similar trends. A big thank you to all the staff who kindly talked us through the new collections!

And before I sign off, I almost forgot to add that I managed to take away with me a gorgeous neon orange clutch bag from NEXT’s new SS13 accessory collection. This will be coming to Ibiza with me this year so I can add a pop of colour to my holiday wear – I love it! It’s so bright it actually perks up my mood!…
