For the past few weeks, I’ve produced a number of posts about my December favourites; beauty brands, new product loves, blogger parties and fashionable finds. But I haven’t really clarified what would make my Christmas complete, in terms of describing my ultimate dream Christmas. So when lingerie brand Boux Avenue asked me to tell them what my dream Christmas would be like, I decided to blog post it and showcase a number of things that would be the make-up of this!
Firstly – I have worked my socks off this year. I began the year working in the fashion industry over in Sydney, Australia. When I returned home, I turned my PR and Marketing skills to be more SEO focused by taking on a role at a global media agency, whilst running whatemmadid.com on the side during it’s busiest year to date. So to celebrate, I started off my dream Christmas with a beauty treat a day for myself. In December, I received a Benefit advent calender from etail PR, which lead me to countdown in cosmetic heaven…
You think it’s hard to resist the chocolates each day? Try knowing that there is a beauty product behind each window – pure torture!
So after a December of receiving mini treats every morning (definitely a girls dream), my Christmas Day would involve spending it with my family and loved one’s, being wrapped up in snuggly PJ’s, drinking a mixture all day of Proessco and Bucks Fizz, and eating my body weight in all types of food from morning to evening. My personal thoughts are that if you have worked so hard all year, Christmas really is the time to treat yourself like never before. Obviously, treat your family and friends too of course, but it’s also about yourself, and busy people tend to forget this. Boux Avenue have some of the cutest little underwear sets and Christmas themed lingerie too that you just have to wear on Christmas Day, to make yourself feel special and truly in the festive mood. Check these cute styles out…
I’m not too complicated; my dream Christmas is basically made up of eating, drinking, treating myself to cute little gifts, eating delicious food and spending a relaxed day with the family. Family are so important at Christmas, and I know this more than ever after spending last Christmas on the other side of the world. I rarely show the whatemmadid.com family on the blog, so here we go, there they are, at my twin sisters PhD graduation the other week (My Mum, Lucy, Me, My Dad)..
In all seriousness though, do use Christmas to be the time to give yourself your ‘dreams’. Even if it means just treating yourself to a few little gifts you have always wanted to kind of ‘prize’ yourself for your hard work and getting through the year once again. Boux Avenue are possibly one of the most beautiful brands to have asked me to share my dream Christmas, as the Boux Avenue brand is an absolute dream in itself! If you can’t think of ways to treat yourself, you can always say it with the sweetest lingerie! This Christmas, I know i’ll be #DreamingOfBoux – will you?
