The Premier League 2025/2026 is well on its way and fans all across the world are waiting with bated breath to see who might take the cup home. Already, fans and sports bettors alike up and down the country have placed their bets and speculations on which team they expect to take home the win. In order to make these predictions, many have been taking into account the previous performances of each team individually over the last year to inform their decision.
That being said, many sports bettors in the UK have reported finding sportsbooks regulated by the UK Gambling Commission (the UKGC) to be too restrictive to fully support their sports betting needs. With that in mind, many have instead begun to turn to offshore sportsbooks and casino websites for greater betting freedom. Not only do these sites have much larger casino game libraries and many more sports betting options, but they also provide punters with a variety of bonuses and incentives that their UK-based counterparts simply cannot match. Out of all the teams set to go head to head in the upcoming Premier League, it is Liverpool who have managed to rally the most support, and who the majority of sports bettors expect to win. Liverpool also secured the win last year, for the 2024-2025 season, despite not having many new players at the time. This year, however, manager Arne Slot is taking all the necessary steps to ensure the team perform at their peak, including spending a lot of cash in order to take on new players. Some of the big names on Slot’s radar include Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Giorgi Mamardashvilli. On the other hand, only the single player, Trent Alexander-Arnold, seems likely to be leaving the team, so Liverpool should have an impressive group of talent when heading into the upcoming Premier League.
Alternatively, Manchester City have set itself up well to be a strong competitor to Liverpool. Despite a rocky start, they ended the domestic 2024-2025 campaign impressively well. This greatly boosted their Premier League position and made it to the final of the FA Cup. Since then, they have recruited many new players, including Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rayan Cherki and have greatly strengthened their squad in preparation for the next Premier League. On top of this, Manchester City were recently involved in the Club World Cup, and their participation in this tournament was certain to have given them a greater understanding of their own team weaknesses, which they can then work on prior to the start of the Premier League.
Now for the underdog of the big three, Arsenal. Arsenal have taken the second spot in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons of the Premier League. Sooner or later, it is expected that they will finally deliver and take the cup for themselves. Despite consistently being close, Arsenal’s Spanish manager, Mikel Arteta, has not yet secured a trophy for his team since the FA Cup in his first season at the Emirates in 2019-2020. As we’ve seen, both Liverpool and Manchester City have already gone to great lengths in order to strengthen their teams in preparation for the Upcoming Premier League. As such, there is extensive pressure on Arteta to do the same.
These are the three teams most expected to take the Premier League Cup home this season, but they are by no means the only options. There are a variety of other teams that sports bettors have wagered on to win the Premier League. In fourth place, we have Newcastle United. This team has performed extremely well recently, but they are also incredibly busy right now, juggling their domestic and European commitments. The fifth fan favourite for the trophy is Chelsea, who regained the confidence of their fans by winning the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup. The sixth fan favourite for the win is Manchester United, though supporters might be leaning more on hope than actual facts when it comes to considering whether the squad have a chance. Especially considering the fact that they had a rather dreadful 2024-2025 campaign.
