Caudalie Beauty Elixir Review

I’ve heard about the rise of Beauty Elixir sprays for a while now, and although thought the idea sounded lovely, never really saw the need for me to own one. I already feel that my skincare regime is pretty full-on, with cleansing, toning, moisturising, applying eye cream, primer, foundation etc. Where would a Beauty Elixir spritz fit in?

I’m using the term Beauty Elixir in this post because I’m focusing on the cult product from Caudalie, although a similar type of product is the Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist, and the Ole Henriksen Facial Water sprays. These all act as that skin treatment step before you moisturise, to soothe, hydrate, and add that dewy glow.

So, back to the main focus of the post. Why have I suddenly changed my mind? Why is it that I now use Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir everyday as part of my beauty regime? First of all, as I’m a Beauty Editor as my main job, I was gifted the spray from Caudalie for work purposes to learn about the product, not necessarily to review. But after a week of using this, I just fell in love with it. So quickly. Hook, line, sinker.

To make it a little clearer, I’ve outlined what I discovered, and how I use it to benefit my skin:

  • I lightly mist this onto my face after I cleanse and before I moisturise, as it adds an extra boost of hydration to my skin before prepping with moisturiser. It also helps my moisturiser glide on easily, and gives a dewy look.
  • The uplifting scent uses extracts of grape, rosemary, orange blossom, rose, myrrh and organic balm mint which is the ultimate sense awakener first thing in the morning. However, I carry the 30ml bottle in my handbag as I find it calms and lifts my mood throughout the day. The scent is truly delicious – whenever I mist it on my face and people are around, they’ll always comment.
  • I found out after a week’s usage that the mist is excellent for minimising my pores. Wonderful!
  • Not only does this healthy, skin-feeding facial spray help give me a glowing complexion, the Beauty Elixir manages to act as both toner and face serum at the same time. So those days when I don’t have time to use my usual Pixi Glow Tonic toner, I don’t stress as I always have my Beauty Elixr at hand to spray on-the-go

It works as a make-up setting spray, so there’s really no need for me to own a specialist one. Once all my foundation and powder are done, I lightly spritz 2-3 sprays onto my finished face, locking my products to my skin so it literally doesn’t budge all day.

Overall, the Caudalie Beauty Elixir really is the vitamin shot my skincare regime was missing. It works wonderfully to bring radiance to my complexion, along with refreshing my skin and uplifting my senses. A 30 ml bottle costs £12, with 100 ml retailing at £32 from Caudalie. I actually own both sizes now…. Perhaps a little addicted?

I have been debating on trying this product, I have tried several other from Caudalie like the makeup remover oil and hand and nail cream through b-glowing but haven’t tried this yet. I am thinking it’s about time I try it!
