Warning: Super cuteness alert. And it’s in the form of nail polishes.
These pretty little pastel nail colours are from the new Coconut Infusion Nail Paint collection by Barry M, which have arrived in perfect time for Summer. You may have seen the range advertised by Lucy Mecklenburgh, who fronts up the collection. It’s an entirely new and innovative Nail Paint formulation, using a unique, caring blend of Coconut Water and Coconut Oil to gently hydrate and nourish nails while delivering a smooth, gel-like glossy manicure.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a huge fan of coconut oil and coconut water anyway, although it’s usually something I consume. I sometimes dabble with using coconut oil as a hair mask every now and again, but normally still to cooking with it, and drinking cartons of Coconut Water.
However, this launch has brought the power of coconuts to our nails. The polishes are enriched with anti-oxidizing properties and the strengthening benefits of patented Hexanal and Vitamins B & C. When painting nails with the Coconut Infusion collection, nails are aimed to be repaired and replenished, resulting in a brighter, healthier looking, long lasting finish. They feature an exclusive High Reflective Resin System for lustrous shine, fluid coverage and amazing depth of colour.
So, after now being the owner of a lovely handful of summery shades, what do I think of them?
The collection is inspired by the holiday season and the beach, which means we see fresh pastels called all sorts of lovely beach life related names. We have surfboard, bikini, starfish and flamingo – just to name a few. My favourite up to now is Skinny Dip, a creamy white shade which is super easy to apply, and layers up as a glossy fresh cream nail paint. I’m usually dubious about applying cream/white shades in case they look tacky, but the formula is so smooth and creamy itself that the polish glides on perfectly.
The beauty of these polishes is that they create a gel nail type effect, without even having to use a base coat. The nutrients from the polishes infuse, hydrate and protect the nail, meaning it’s actually more beneficial to skip the base. I find two coats of the polish is more than enough to create a professional looking nail paint.
And how can I sign off from this blog post without mentioning how adorable and quirky this nail polish bottle phone charger is? I first spied this on Instagram, and was over the moon when I was sent my very own charger from the team at Barry M. It’s just the most girliest item for technology – a chunky pale pink phone charger which sits pretty next to my phone!
I guess I can conclude this review by saying I’m overly happy to own a collection of gorgeous shades for the Summer! These beach inspired shades will look super cute when I’m actually on the beach I’m sure.
Oh and one concluding point before I sign off, they come at the affordable price of £4.99 a polish too…
