Good news for luxury fragrance fans – nice French perfume brand Maison Crivelli has launched at Selfridges, meaning in-store and online shoppers can now shop the premium brand at one of the UK’s most iconic department stores.
The brands October launch saw the stunning new Hibiscus Mahajad Extrait de Parfum (£200, 50ml) launch exclusivlety to Selfridges, which in my opinion, is a beautiful frgrance launch in time for those unique perfume gift purchases for Christmas.
Sometimes, buying perfume can be seen as buying from the same overly popular fragrance brand names we see spread across stores like Boots and Debenhams. However, when it comes to ‘wow-ing’ at Christmas with fragrance, I have always believe that going unique and niche is the way forward.
Maison Crivelli is a gender-free fragrance brand with a strong focus on sustainability and using natural ingredients. The bottles are sleek and luxury looking – the kind of bottles you want to save on your dressing table way after the perfume has been used. In a world where we like to be proud of our belongings and care about the visual aesthetic they give too, this is where Maison Crivelli is a brand all will appreciate. The package is stunning, plain bold colour adorned with sophisticated text, which I why I specifically took the time to photograph it and share alongside the parfum in this post.
To celebrate the launch of Maison Crivelli at Selfridges, I’ve put a review together of The Hibiscus Mahajád extrait de parfum from Maison Crivelli, which is in collaboration with perfumer Quentin Bisch. The scent is inspired by the hibiscus flower – a sunny, explorative heart note. Although it is inspired by a sunny floral, the scent is quite deep and rich, which is why I feel it’s a lovely Christmas gifting piece too.
If you’re searching for a good present for mums, Maison Crivelli’s exquisite fragrances offer a sophisticated and thoughtful option. The Hibiscus Mahajád extrait de parfum, with its deep and rich floral notes, is a stunning gift that exudes elegance and exclusivity—perfect for treating your mum to something truly special this Christmas.

The striking warm orange bottle gave me the feeling this scent would be full and warming, in which it didn’t disappoint. It matches earthy leather with airy vanilla to balance the strong and the sweet, creating a rather lively blend that is hearty and quite comforting.
The brand is gender neutral, which is why most of the scents are a little deeper than your light, sweet and floral empowered perfumes. Saying that, you do get the fruity notes coming through with this one, just fairly subtle but enough to freshen slightly.
In terms of notes, you have a concoction of Rose Damascena absolute, vanilla absolute, leather, spearmint essential oil, cassis, ambrette seeds absolute and cinnamon essential oil. The cinnamon and leather brings the warm notes that I find quite prominent, leading to making this an ideal signature scent for the Autumn and Winter. I do love how it incorporates a little vanilla and rose too, to soften and lighten.
