If you’ve been reading my blog or following my Instagram for a while, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of Temple Spa. As well as being luxury products which make beautiful additions to hotel stays or those fancy spa trips, I’ve found after investing in the brand for a number of years that these products genuinely provide excellent results. Therefore, I’m always super excited to receive any new and exciting products or sets from Temple Spa – and this lovely set arrived last month which totally deserves a shout out on the blog.
The reason I wanted to put a little review together of the Temple Spa Re-Balance Tone Purify set for combination skin is because I found it a lovely set for those who have dry skin in places like the cheeks, yet struggle with an oily T-Zone. It’s becoming so common when I speak to people about their skin types that they suffer with the dry patches along with oily areas, meaning it can be difficult to find a skincare regime which balances the two out without stripping the skin.
Ideally, you need a balancing cleanser, a light toner and a moisturiser which doesn’t overload the oily areas with too much moisture, yet provides a substantial amount for the dry areas.
This is where the Re-Balance set comes in handy, putting three balancing products together to make it easy for the combination skin lady to understand what products to use for an effective skincare regime. Let’s have a little breakdown of each of the three products and why they’ve impressed me with my combination skin. Bear in mind I have acne and pigmentation too, and although these products aren’t aimed to improve acne or help with it, they didn’t aggravate it at all, and contributed to a healthier, more even tone – especially with the red and blotchy patches I have from previous breakouts.
Temple Spa Dual Act Wet and Dry Cleanser
One of the reasons this product works so well for combination skin is due to it having the formulation of both a gel and a cream in one, addressing both the oily skin and the dry. It’s pretty clever and I’m in no professional position to start saying how this concoction of gel and cream formula works to balance the skin, but the fact you can use it on both dry and wet skin definitely helps.
When the formula is used dry, it works like a lotion that can be massaged into the skin and then wiped off. However when applied to the skin and splashed with water, you then get the benefit of a lovely lather up, making it become a deep cleansing wash which is better for those days you have been wearing makeup.
Other than that, I’m not too sure how the wash balances out the oily and the dry, but it somehow does, keeping the greasy t-zone areas reduced and the dry skin hydrated and soft.
Temple Spa Moisture To Go
I’ve heard this moisturiser be referred to as providing what your skin needs when it has a split personality, and I find that a fabulous way of describing it! It works perfectly with the dual act cleanser, working to bring balance to the skin when it fights both oil and parched areas of the skin. It feels super silky to apply, yet absorbs quickly and leaves a soft glow to the skin. Liquid silk for the skin.
It doesn’t over moisturise, I find it provides enough hydration for my cheeks which are constantly dry and feel like the skin is stiff and stretched from the dryness. Yet my oily forehead and nose seem to be controlled, with less shine and ‘grease’ – as yukky as that sounds!
Temple Spa Toning Essence
Now I always find when I speak to people about their skincare regimes, a toner is the one product they don’t tend to use. I think it’s important we scrap the stereotype of skin stripping toning lotions, as toners are actually the ‘treatment’ step, and you can get toners now with a multitude of benefits. Blemish busting ones, clarifying ones, and in this case, balancing ones. I have even used light hydrating toner mists that you can spritz onto the skin after cleansing, after moistiriser or even on top of makeup to give skin a hydration boost!
The Temple Spa Toning Essence is the a lightweight, super fine mist with a zesty in aroma. It’s a great pick-me-up spray which I use after cleansing and before moisturising. It kind of locks in the moisture and encourages a fresh glow, without being too ‘sticky’ or ‘wet’. Temple Spa says that it cools, refreshes, refines and tones and restores the natural pH balance of your skin. It also said to be anti-inflammatory, anti-itch, calming and soothing. For me, it really is a soothing product, as I feel it calms down any redness which I’m prone to due to acne, and I can see it being a great one to bring on holiday, too!
