More often than none, the ‘no makeup makeup’ trend comes back to bite us. Selfies showing barely-there makeup and natural faces grace our Instagram feeds, in a bid to fight the stigma that we should heavily cover ourselves up with thick makeup.
This is much easier said than done, and makeup can actually work wonders to boost our confidence and let us feel like we are more attractive. It can even be just a touch up of BB cream and lashings of mascara which can totally transform us.
That being said, getting your skin health nailed first is the best step for this. The healthier, clearer and radiant your skin, the more confident you look and feel. For me, I suffer from acne, and I know that when I’ve not been keeping it under control with quality skincare (or a bad diet!), I feel horrendous. Following on from the mention of make up above, the next thing that we’re going to suggest is that you try some alternative cosmetics. Now, for some people, makeup alone simply isn’t enough to make them feel like the beautiful human that they are. If this sounds like you, then you are going to need to try something different. And by that, we mean new shades, new textures, new brands!
For example, did you know that warm brown shades make blue eyes pop? So why not try switching up your black eyeliner for a brown one?
Although makeup can perform miracles, it doesn’t work on it’s own. Your hair colour and cut also plays a huge part in making you look and feel older or younger, as does a strict beauty regime which works on your skincare (as mentioned above).
Think about it. If you have some wrinkles by your eyes, then you might want to think about using eye wrinkle cream and getting into the habit of applying before bed every evening. If you have dark circles under your eyes, then there are serums you can buy to help with this.

Make An Effort To Exercise
Finally, you have got to exercise. We don’t mean everyday, or even getting a gym membership, but regular movement is essential for both your body and mind.
When you do this, your body releases endorphins, which makes you feel good. When you feel good, you smile, and this is bound to make you look great no matter what. You always look your best when you have a smile on your face, and exercise will also make you sweat, flushing out toxins, and leaving your skin glowing. Another benefit is that it helps to keep you in shape, which is one of the most common reasons for people thinking they don’t look good. As there are all these benefits to exercise, you would be silly to pass up on it.
