So I did tell myself I would give myself a week off from whatemmadid.com over the Christmas and New Year break. But a bloggers gotta blog… and as usual I have too many fashion and beauty updates to share with you all that the website just never really ‘goes on holiday’. Firstly though, lets appreciate a good Christmas Day with a little photo trail of my day; it is so nice to get together with my twin sister and spend the day together along with family and indulge in food, drink, and good old present swapping!

My twin Lucy (left) and myself reunited for the Christmas holiday season! Wrapped up in our ponchos and thick coats!

The best of buddies…

The jumpsuit I am wearing here is from George at ASDA, but I’ll be featuring this in a complete outfit post this week…

My friend who I spent 9 months in Australia with put together a travel photo album filled with lots of previous memories from our time in Sydney and travelling the East Coast. There really is no nicer gifts than the gifts of memories…

And of course, an obligatory beauty blogger selfies. My Christmas day make-up featured bold red lips from Yves Rocher (my new red lipstick I can’t stop raving on about), 60’s inspired flicks with liquid eyeliner from Essence, doll eyed look lashes using Hynose Doll Eyes Mascara by Lancome, and contoured cheeks using the Makeup Revolution blush palette featured in my previous ‘brushes and blushers’ post.
The whatemmadid.com Christmas Day started off as lovely as can be. I got some really cute presents from people who actually thought about me as a person and what I do on a daily basis and the things I genuinley love. Note I won’t say ‘need; – I don’t need anything- I’m a very lucky girl getting spend Christmas Day with loved ones, so any little gifts I received were just the most thoughtful little touches…

I am a huge green tea drinker, but just drinking the teabag form can sometimes be a bit limiting. So I was delighted to receive this handy LEAF Teapot and Loose Leaf Green Rooibos tea set, from LEAF in Liverpool. Now I’m going to be buying loose tea leaves in all sorts of flavours now. They have a fab selection from LEAF, look how amazing this Autumn Fire loose leaf is, blending autumnal classics such as cloves and cinnamon sticks with orange, almond pieces and rose blossom.

How typical me is this beautiful iconic Vogue postcard set? The set contains 100 stunning prints from the covers of Vogue. Something I will treasure for sure and the perfect present for fashionistas.
And of course – the ultimate gift for any beauty obsessed girl has to be the Urban Decay NAKED eye palette. This is a staple eyeshadow palette for anyone who wants the best of the best eye colours. It needs no introduction and no description. It’s a product I have never owned but have always lusted after, and now I am finally the proud owner… huge smiley face over here! Review will be on the blog soon of course.

Last but not least, Christmas is always fully complete with the arrival of a new fragrance. This year, for me it is all about Marc Jacobs DOT, in this beautiful red ladybird designed glass bottle. So ho ho ho, and have a great Boxing Day one and all. I hope your Christmas was as fashion and beauty filled as mine way!
[…] Another new years skin resolution that is worth taking note of is to look after your skin from the inside. It’s nothing you, and you’ll have heard of it before, but if you want to make a little difference then it’s a great new years resolution to try to make. I switched from constantly drinking tea and and coffee to green tea about 18 months ago, and I have noticed an improvement to not just the look and feel of my skin, but to my overall health in general. It is one of the best antioxidants as well as speeds up your metabolism, and after getting used to the taste, is quite enjoyable to drink, especially in the winter. The best way I find to drink it is to get yourself a little tea strainer type teapot like mine photographed above from Leaf, and some luxury loose leaf Green Tea such as the Green Rooibos. You can read more about this lovely little purchase over at my previous blog post. […]
