I’ve had fine, thin hair for pretty much as long as I can remember, and throw in bleaching sessions for those highlights every 6 weeks, you’re looking at weakened hair too. When Christmas starts to near, I always appreciate the gift of luxury hair care, because in my eyes it’s an investment for my hair if it’s going to work to improve it.
A brand that I personally find a beautiful one for the gifting season is Duck & Dry. If you’re not familiar with them, then it might be because you aren’t located near to one of their salons, but they are known across the hair and beauty industry for their professional salons, creating the perfect blow dry. I personally don’t love close to a Duck & Dry hair salon, but I was introduced to their expert haircare range a couple of years ago, and their professional products have been on my radar ever since.

This is the first time I have tried the brands product range designed for fine hair, which is the Duck & Dry Ultimate Gift Set for Fine Hair. Wrapped up in a duck egg blue gift back, the set makes the perfect gift for anyone with fine hair types, like myself. It includes a full-size Fine Feathers Weightless & Conditioner – the perfect combo to cleanse and condition the hair without weighing it down; our must-have hair primer Pre-Heat-Prep, an all-in-one spray for healthy manageable hair that detangles, heat-protects, and controls frizz for a sleek, shiny finish; and a beautiful pouch for all your hair accessories.
Ultimate Gift Set For Fine Hair:
If you need to gift a loved one – or even yourself – a treat for fine hair that includes products which work to create volume and shine, then this Fine Hair Care Collection gift set could be worth weighing up. It is specifically designed to create a voluminous and weightless finish for those with finer hair types, choosing 3 products which all work in sync to create luscious locks.
The products aim to transform hair into glossy, moisturised hair that looks and feels fuller. The set contains:
~ Pre-Heat-Prep Hair Primer (150ml)
~ Fine Feathers Weightless Shampoo (250ml)
~ Fine Feathers Weightless Conditioner (250ml)
~ Gorgeous pouch for your accessories

I start off using the weightless shampoo for fine hair, followed by the conditioner which I usually leave on for around 2 minutes. The shampoo creates a lovely rich lather, and the conditioner has a real creamy, lightweight texture, with both products smelling sweet and fresh.
Both the shampoo and conditioner contain Honey as the key ingredient, making them both moisturising without being too heavy. The products used together are said to promote elasticity, while adding subtle volume and giving life to limp, flat hair. I try to blow dry my hair upside down too, and I have felt my hair has that extra bit of ‘oomph’ it’s usually missing after using all three together. It feels really silky and hydrated too, but light and not too weighed down by rich moisturising ingredients. As those with fine hair will know, it can be tricky to get the right balance between ingredients and formulas that condition the hair, yet don’t flatten it and weigh it down.

I try not to use many products on my hair with it being fine and limp, but something that protects against heat is a must for me. Even if I just blow dry and try to limit straighteners or curling tongs, I still need something for the heat of the hairdryer.
Duck & Drys Pre-Heat-Prep is a hair priming product, preparing your hair before you apply heat. Kind of like with your skin when you use a primer – you prepare the skin before any heavy makeup products go on. Pre-Heat-Prep is a lightweight, leave-in hair primer that coats the strands of hair with a shine-boosting shield to protect against heat damage, whilst eliminating frizz and flyaway hairs. It’s actually designed to work on both thick or fine hair, but for me I find it great as my thin hair is damaged and prone to breakage, so I feel like it’s great to use before exposing it to any more heat that contributes to the damage.
The bonus for me about using this product is that my fine, bleached hair gets ridiculously knotty, and this acts as a really good detangler. It has certainly helped soothed the frizz I have from the over processed parts of my hair, and touch wood, it’s helping to protect too1
