I’ve talked a lot about both moving house on Instagram, and then moving into my brand new office space close to the new house. So as with all new builds, the move hasn’t quite happened yet, but I have moved into my creative office space, and I’ve been getting some wall decor going on with Poster Store. I mean, I wanted to keep the vibe quite minimal, but the four blank walls definitely needed some jazzing up!
I think it’s important when adding wall prints and general office ‘decoration’ to stick to a theme, and make sure it represents the type of business area you are working in. So for example, I run a small print business, and I’m a content creator and freelance writer. I mainly work with female focused brands within fashion and beauty, so a clear girly vibe is ideal for me when kitting out my creative space. I need inspiration when I look around, and I also need posters which fit into the goals and dreams I have in my head. When you’re self-employed and run your own businesses, you find yourself obsessing over goals quite a lot!

I decided not to stick to one theme category, as the posters could look a little too samey in the small space that I have, but instead, I picked carefully so that the two themes crossed gently over. For example, two of my favourite posters are from the Typography and Quote posters, one saying ‘don’t call it a dream, call it a plan’ (to encourage me to stop daydreaming and actually put thoughts into action!), and ‘support your local girl gang’ (which gives a nod to female small biz. I have these propped up on my work desk, and the other at the side of my mirror where a lot of of my shoots take place. But as the office space slowly started to take more shape when it’s been ‘lived in’ for longer, I might create a little gallery wall of inspirational business quotes that resonated with where I want to be going.
Throughout the prints that I chose, there’s a strong beige, baby pink, cream and white theme, which are usually the colours that represent my businesses. I’d also love these colours to be strong and prominent throughout my office interior, although sadly I moved into an office with a ark green carpet…. sadly in a rental I can’t do anything about that one!

Alongside the inspirational prints, I adore the two A3 illustration sketch prints I have, which give a calm, artistic and creative feel to the space. They represent minimalism with the style too, therefore when framed in their light wood frames, look classic and arty.
The smaller A4 print that I have framed sat beneath the illustration print is one that I found while looking for makeup and beauty inspired prints. I also do bridal makeup, and I thought that this swatch style print gives a nod to the beauty aspect of my life and business, too.
Both of them work together with a neutral and muted colour palette, and sit so lovely perched on my white office desk.
