There’s so many people discussing advent calendars and 8beauty boxes at the moment, as the run up to Christmas draws near. I love a unique calendar concept, or a mystery box so to speak, but I guess I’ve kind of gotten a little bored of the same generic ones popping up each year.
Something a little different that stood out to me this year was a September launch box that I managed to get my hands on, that oozed luxury and finesse. Exclusive to John Lewis, it’s the Scent Series Fragrance Discovery Box – a beautifully designed and well put together box filled with pull out draws to reveal a scented surprise (or 2, or 3!).
The Scent Series Discover Box taps into a brand new way to experiment with fragrance, allowing buyers – or gift receivers – to sample new scents from an array of premium perfume brands. Plus, it comes at a price of £50, which in comparison to some of the travel size beauty sampling boxes I’ve seen in the past, isn’t a bad price for the concept.
What stood out for me about the concept of the Scent Series box is that it provides the perfect way for us to sample an expensive fragrance, without having to indulge in a full sized product first. That, and the way it lets you try out various premium fragrances to see which scent is preffered, is made enjoyable with the surprise element of the little pull out drawers.
So, the main question is: what fragrances can people expect to discover when purchasing this limited edition box? You can expect to find a mixture of fragrances from Creed, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Juliette has a Gun, Maison Crivelli and Parle Moi de Parfum. Now I’ll save sharing what you find in exactly each drawer, but I will share a selection of images from the box, and a list of each fragrance that you will find…
The fragrances are split into different themes, so here’s what you can expect to find under each one:

CREED VIKING COLOGNE

My overall thoughts
What an absolutely adorable gift box. I was stunned with the attention to detail with this gift, from the packaging right down to the drawer layout and carefully selected minis packed into each pull out. It’s a great way to experiment with some of the most premium fragrance brands and scents out there, learning which ones are favourites and worth splurging out on. It definitely is a refreshing box on the market, standing out from the others which I feel have become a little samey. Perhaps a great Christmas gift for Mum’s, or a surprise gift for girlfriends and wives?
