Are your kids into cars? Into Lego? Into both? Well, here are some incredible car creations that might inspire you or your kids to build something brilliant yourself!

Ferrari F1 Racecar
This Lego Ferrari Formula One racecar is our super impressive first entry on the list – and it was fully backed by the Scuderia. It’s a full size replica of the 2011 Ferrari F1 car and although not completely made of Lego, the majority of the car was made of the famous children’s toy. Ferrari even then used its then-F1 team of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso to reveal the car, which was meant to call attention to the company’s deal with Shell to sell replica Lego Ferraris at gas stations.
Air-Powered Hot Rod
So, there are “Expert” sets for people who really are into Legos and would probably be too tough for your kids, and then there’s a step above that too. This step above might be a full size, drivable Lego car, for example…
Titled the Super Awesome Lego Project, the creators say this thing can reach a speed of 20 miles per hour on the road. It uses 256 pistons and two high-pressure tanks for propulsion so probably wouldn’t pass an MOT like a regular road vehicle…
The project took a monstrous 500,000 Legos to build in Romania and then was shipped to Australia. Clad in a black-and-yellow bumblebee colour scheme, this hot rod would catch some eyes if you popped down to the shops.
Batmobile
Batman hasn’t always been dark and moody, but your kids might only know that version of their caped crusader! However, as their parent, you might be able to introduce them to a time when he was a little more flamboyant. And what better way to do it than through Lego?
These were his wheels from that more festive era; the Lincoln Futura-based, George Barris-designed 1966 Batmobile, and now you can build one too with your little one (or without!)
Fast and Furious
Well, if you’re a fan of cars, you’ve probably watched one, two, three, or even nine? of the Fast & Furious movies. They assure us that they are in fact ending! One lego export from the saga is this replica of Dom’s (Vin Diesel) Dodge Charger. It’s based on the iconic 1970s Dodge Charger R/T and since it comes from LEGO Technic, there are plenty of authentic details throughout the kit. Vin Diesel would be the first one to tell you to check out what’s underneath the hood, or under the bricks in this case, which for this model is an iconic V8 engine with moving pistons.
Other cool features include wishbone suspension, steering system, and air blower—but it wouldn’t be an authentic Fast & Furious creation without the nitro bottles in the boot of the car! Oh and how could we forget, you can even set the finished Lego masterpiece in the famous wheelstand position, lifting the front wheels off the ground. If your kids are at the age where they might enjoy entering the “fast franchise”, skip the action figures and get involved with this masterpiece.
LEGO Speed Champions Formula E Panasonic Jaguar Racing GEN2 Car & Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY
Now for something really different. We’ve covered race cars, exotic supercars, and even off-road cars. But what about electric cars? Getting your kids involve with this set might also bring some educational purposes too!
This kit includes two figures, the Formula E Panasonic Jaguar Racing GEN2 car that competes in the FIA Formula E Championship, and the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY. The two cars are accompanied by two minifigures fully equipped with racing suits, and a start line with three lights that provide some fun racing action even if the story behind the set doesn’t interest you as much.
Both cars are finished in a similar light blue/aqua shade as the real cars they replicate. You’ll notice plenty of realistic details throughout both cars, including livery and sponsor logos.
Overall, these are five sets that any car or Lego enthusiast should be aware of and could inspire your kids into making their own incredible automotive innovations!
