Summer is just around the corner. After living in our jumpers and thermals for the past six months, it’s time to pack them up and dig out our summer dresses that have been hidden away since last year.
The team at Case Farm have compiled some top tips on how to organise your wardrobe for the summer months, so you can go out and enjoy every moment in the sun, without stressing over your wardrobe.
Declutter your wardrobe
When organising your wardrobe, the best way to start is by decluttering your clothes. Instead of throwing everything out of your wardrobe onto the floor and getting overwhelmed, try sorting out your clothes by category. Sorting out clothes by category can make things simpler for you as it is easier to compare similar items that you have when sorting through a category at a time. Sometimes you need to be ruthless when decluttering your clothing collection. Did you know that most people only wear 20% of their wardrobe 80% of the time?
You may end up with a pile of clothing that you no longer want. There are many options for what you can do with them: if they are still in good condition, you can sell them online or donate them to charity. For clothes that are well worn you don’t need to throw them in the bin! You can use them for rags for cleaning or if you’re a bit crafty, there are hundreds of DIY ideas online to try with your old clothes.
Keep your most used clothes at eye level
Everyone has their favourite few items of clothing that they gravitate towards and choose to wear at every opportunity. In summer that might be a cute sundress or some flowy trousers. These clothes should be front and centre when you open your wardrobe and your drawers. It will save you time in the morning when you’re getting ready.
Try storing clothes you won’t be using over the summer out of sight either on shelves or in drawers. If you have limited wardrobe space an easy and inexpensive way to store your winter clothing is with under bed storage bags or roller wheel boxes.

Get some drawer dividers
For those of you who have limited space for storage, drawer dividers can help your clothes stay organised with limited space. Drawer dividers are such a handy thing to own, as it saves space and makes it easy to see everything in your drawers. This is best used with
clothing that doesn’t crease like your undergarments, PJs and workout clothes.
An additional bonus is that it makes it easy to see when you’re running low on clothes and need to throw a load of laundry in the machine.
Organise your wardrobe by category
Sorting your wardrobe by clothing type makes it easier for you to create an outfit that gives you more time to enjoy the summer sun. Keeping your wardrobe organised by category can save you so much time in getting ready. Nice top and jeans for drinks with the girls? All of your nice tops are together in your wardrobe ready to go!
Use your doors for storage
Your wardrobe doors are the perfect solution for extra storage in a small bedroom. For example, you can use over the door hooks to hang everything from handbags to hats. If your wardrobe is deep enough, you can also add small baskets to the inside of the doors! These can help you store your accessories like ties, jewellery and sunglasses.
These easy tips and tricks can help you sort and organise your clothing space just in time for summer. Taking a little time out of your day to organise your clothing storage can help you in
