Anyone whose anyone has heard of Lipcote. I remember it from when I was little, it was a product that was always in every beauty store I would visit with my mum. So it’s no surprise that the cult beauty product is celebrating it’s 50th birthday – Happy Birthday Lipcote!
Since it first launched, the number one lipstick sealer has undergone a couple of teeny changes, such as it’s new vanilla scent and efforts to not dry out lips. I hadn’t personally tried the product out for a long while, so was delighted when the lovely people at Handpicked Media invited me to sample the product and join in Lipcote’s 50th birthday celebrations! So, for last night’s Love Lipcote Twitter Party, I got my Lipcote mixing pallete out and began mixing lots of lipstick shades to start using the product with some of my fave colours!
The first look I absolutley loved was the more ‘vampy’ look – I smoothered on a deep coral lipstick colour finished with a slick of Lipcote to seal the xcolour and add shine. Excuse my awful camera phone, my skin isn’t as white as this! Promise! Take a look at the shiny result!
My second favorite look was taking Revlon’s ‘Cappucino’ shade lipstick and adding a touch of a darker burgendy colour, then coating with Lipcote. It produced this frosty, sheeny pout! Lovely! (Again, apologies for awful camera – new camera will be purchased in the new year!)

Lipcote is such a bargain beauty product, costing just £3.49 from selected pharmacies including Superdrug and Boots. If your a big lipstick wearer like myself (always prefer lipstick over a sticky lipgloss anyday!) then maybe it’s the secret product your lipstick has been in need of all this time!
