Today’s little round-up post is just highlighting a few of my fashion and beauty loves associated to Manchester city center lately. Manchester is one of those cities where you literally have a place for everything: pop-up shops, blow dry bars, express facials, new brands and boutique launches… for me, it’s the ideal city outside of London to suit all my beauty and fashion needs. Here’s a couple of things I wanted to share with you…
Elemis Facials: Harvey Nichols
Elemis are one of my favourite skincare brands, and I recently discovered their Harvey Nichols concession the other week, where you can book in for a luxury facial by one of the Elemis therapists. If you read my blog often, you’ll know I swear by the Elemis Tri-Enzyme range, which really exfoliates the skin and encourages cell renewal for a clearer, more youthful complexion. I personally find it fades away red marks from breakouts a little quicker than most other brands I’ve used, which is my reason for owning this. So as I’ve been incorporating Elemis products into my skincare regime for many years, I realised I have never looked at booking in for an actual Elemis facial.
So after work one Thursday evening, I headed along to the Harvey Nichols concession, and was given the chance to explore my skin under their professional face camera machine (I can’t remember the real name for it, but you get what I mean!). It highlighted any areas of concern, such as pores, wrinkles, dehydration, pigmentation and spots. It’s such a clever little machine which really helped me understand my skin a lot more, and I was really interested in how much sun damage it picked up, mainly from the time I spent in Australia. I was also a little shocked at the amount of wrinkles it picked up! Although the therapist did explain it picks up the tiniest formations and highlights upcoming wrinkle and line prone areas, so maybe I won’t panic just yet…
I was then treated to a lovely hour long facial in the brands new massaging chair, which was a little bit of a different experience for me. I regularly make sure I keep on top of having facials, but it’s rare I get treated to a massage chair too! The therapist opted for a facial which incorporated my love for the Tri Enzyme range products, as these products do really benefit my skin to combat dullness, rough texture and red marks. It felt super soft afterwards and exfoliated, a lot fresher and clearer too.
My therapist pulled together an assortment of key products based on assessing my skin which I could benefit using going forward, which include the Rehydrating Toner and the Papaya Enzyme Peel (which I have used before and it is brilliant for my skin type). If you know you have a trip to Manchester coming up soon, or you live here, bear in mind you can book yourself in for these types of treatments within the city, even if it’s a quick lunch time squeeze. It’s so easy to forget these treatments are available, but judging from my experience with Elemis Harvey Nichols, they really are worth it for a treat.
Miu Miu Parfum Engraving
To all the boyfriends and husbands out there – listen up. This one is for you! This next pointer is coming up this weekend, just in time for the Christmas shopping rush to begin, and it’s an absolute beauty of an idea for all the females in your life. To celebrate the launch of the first ever Miu Miu fragrance, the brand have an exclusive engraving activity taking place at House of Fraser situation on Deansgate in Manchester this weekend, from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd. Between the hours of 12 midday and 8pm, you can have the lid of the new Miu Miu parfum engraved with whatever initials you wish when you purchase the 50ml bottle. How lovely is that for a Christmas present with a difference? It’s such a nice little personal touch. I can’t wait to see what the scent is like, as the bottle is uber stylish with it’s blue soft pillow glass look, and a translucent red disc lid detail. Such a unique gift for the fashionable and designer loving females you may know…
