Lifestyle: A Manchester Christmas in the City

I know it’s only the 1st of December, but I have already been celebrating the festive season. It’s been a season of endless blogger Christmas parties and celebrating xmas collections, therefore I’m already way on my way when it comes to indulging in the mulled wine and mince pies! The great thing is, that all the events have taken place in Manchester this year where as during previous years, all the blogger events have been in London making it really hard to get to.

Manchester is just growing and growing – with more places than ever to explore and visit. On Saturday evening, I had a girls Christmas meal and party night where we all got dressed up and hit the town, and we started with a meal at Restaurant Bar & Grill. I haven’t been here for ages and was incredibly impressed at the food…

I just want to take a minute to appreciate the beauty of this duck and roasted pear main course. I had a side portion of chips too, but thought i’d leave the fatty food out of the picture! Following this amazing meal, we had a little wander down Oxford Road end of Manchester before heading to a Motown night at Sound Control. I daringly wore white – eek. Luckily no red wine was spilt anywhere…

Expedia have launched a fantastic new guide to Manchester called ‘My Manchester Trip’ , which is an interactive guide and itinerary making tool featuring some of the best Arts & Culture, Food & Drink, Fashion and Music venues that Manchester has to offer. To help you plan a fun filled, tailored-to-you trip to this fab city, you just click on your favourite bars, boutiques and galleries from the selections, use the ‘add’ button to chose up to ten venues to add to your ‘My Trip Itinery’, and share it with your friends! It’s really handy if you are spending a weekend in Manchester and want to get organised, get some inspiration, and then get everyone’s opinions on the trip you have created.

You can view the My Manchester Itinerary with Expedia here. Take a little look at all the options and start planning some brilliant days and nights, as if your not familiar with the city, it will certainly highlight some options for you. With Christmas and New Years Eve coming up, you might want to come to Manchester and plan a weekend of celebrating here, or even just to take a train ride and come for a spot of shopping.

As a Manchester girl, born and bread, I find this online guide really in depth and also easy to use. Try it!
