Fashion: The Most Iconic LBD’s

Now that the Autumn season is approaching, I may be filled with dread with the thought of facing the cold once again, but another part of me is screaming with delight. It’s Autumn/Winter fashion time, meaning it’s time to fill my wardrobe with my favourite type of clothes. Big, snuggly jumpers and oversized cardigans, and more importantly, party dresses. If you read often, you’ll know that I love dark colours – my wardrobe is made up of black, navy and grey dresses. Some call it morbid, but I call is classy. These shades are flattering and timeless, and more importantly spot on for A/W!

In true celebration of my love for LBD’s and striking black occasion dresses, I came across this beautifully designed infographic from fashion retailer Coast, which highlights the journey of celebrities wearing iconic black dresses from 1920 to the modern day. It features some of our favourite style heroes – Coco Chanel, Marilyn Monroe, Liz Hurley and Angelina Jolie. It’s a pretty little journey of how iconic the LBD is, and how styles and shapes have changed over time. Take a little look below, which is also featured over at Hello Fashion magazine too…

As the majority of you will know, I have my own little dress boutique which I retail over on this blog as a place my readers can shop. I actually have a couple of hero black dresses over at the boutique which I love wearing and will be saving aside for myself come Christmas time. However, when I need some new stunning dresses for any Christmas parties and other upcoming big events, I do actually have Coast as one of my fail-safe retailers for beautiful dresses. They always retail the prettiest of styles, and I’ll be looking forward to checking out their new collections this season. Below, you can see myself trying out some of my favourite black dresses that I currently love…

I love love LOVE that Coco Chanel dress. I must be the only female not to own a LBD, I prefer statement dresses. Some of yours are beautiful though, they’d be perfect for a dinner I have coming up, I might have a nosey! X
